In my top 10 list, for sure I will add in to it: Gaspard Yurkievich, Osman Yousefzada, Patrik Rzepski and As Four (an unexpectedly GORGEOUS collection).... as for the rest I still haven't made up my mind yet... but those 4 are sure to be in my top 10.....

Off the of my head... I loved

Alberta Ferretti, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Sophia Kokosalaki, Versace, Balenciaga, Hermes

10 seems like alot...so i'll do my top 5^_^

1) without a doubt in my mind was Versace....by far the best collection of the season...it was so wearable, so spring and the clothes were amazing...my fave versace show ever
http://www.***************/image/2005/0930200509302698.jpg

2)Marc Jacobs...i thought it was so beautiful, although it was a little more fall than spring.....
http://www.***************/image/2005/0913200508160939.jpg

3) Louis Vuitton....even though alot of people thought it was auful...i loved it...i though the shoes were amazing and that alot of the dresses and jackets were adorable....
http://www.***************/image/2005/1010200509595060.jpg

4) Viktor and Rolf....it was really pretty...i loved it....
http://www.***************/image/2005/1004200509543007.jpg

5) Luella..it was so wearable....really nice
http://www.***************/image/2005/0912200508372249.jpg

all in all though, this season was really bland...it was rather depressing...even the runways themselves seemed darker.....not bright and fun...... :flower:

what is definately on my top list now is the show of Giorgio Armani, I love his idea of the new way and indiviual way to express elegance~so wonderful and amazing~

Lanvin- loved it all, the shapes, the details, the shoes!!! A great example of what minimalism can and should be in 2005.
00360m.jpg

Dior- captured the mood of the season beautifully, it was soft, airy and feminine but with a hard edge that made it feel new.
00180m.jpg

John Galliano- presentation aside, the clothes were classic Galliano
00340m.jpg

Marc Jacobs- all the pale colors, new shapes and clean lines that seem so right for s/s 06
00630m.jpg

Ann Demeulemeester- a first for me, I always love the pieces but this was the first time I loved the whole look.....
00180m.jpg

Viktor and Rolf- loved the color palette and fabric choices, and I'm mad for the proportions (all of those volume on top, fitted on bottom "upside down" pieces!!!)
00560m.jpg

Prada- one of two collections that stand out in a lackluster Milan season, the shapes of the dresses were so clean and fresh, definitly the most memorable thing to come out of Milano.
00170m.jpg

Rochas- a wonderful progression from last season, softer shapes, beautiful colors and *shock* great pants!
00360m.jpg

Roland Mouret- another great progression, he took the fabulous 40's silhouette from last season, softened it up and added a dash of color to make it perfect for spring (though i'm partial to the ivory he showed)
00040m.jpg

Versace- the second Milanese show that stands out at me for the simple reason that it was the most current thing Donatella has done in a long time and it showed that Versace can do toned down and glamourous clothes

biggest letdown: Louis Vuitton.
After last seasons gorgeous collection (and the anticipation for this one) this season fell short by oh, a mile or so. The colors were all wrong, there was too much going on, and those bags! :yuk:
00190m.jpg

Runner up for biggest letdown: Alexander McQueen.
God, no comment. Horrible, absolutely horrible. It was trashy, bling bling skankiness at it's best, so bad in fact that even Cavalli ditched that formula for this season, a clear sign that something is wrong here. The one saving crace that kept it from being the biggest disappointment was the first 10 or so suit looks, but it was all downhill from there.

R.I.P- Gucci.
This one should be self explanatory. It was bad, unoriginal, a little late on trends and had basic designs that aren't acceptable anywhere but NY fashion week.

1) Givenchy - stunning. Minimalist at its best and extremley elegant, the garments were very understated and the tones they took were easy on the eye.

2) Balenciaga - Incredibly inspiring, terribly original. Very innovative and i adored the fabrics.

3)Roland Mouret - astoundingly authentic, fabulous, fabulous peices. Very feminine and romantic.

4)Versace - renown for its mainstream clothing, Donatella gave us innovation this season. She consistently used to reinvent previous concepts and this collection was an exeption. Pleasing to the eye and feminine, however, still very donatella..sequined silohettes and gold blouses... modern and wearable.

5)Giles - widley disliked but the tailoring was brillant. Ignited the shapeless trend and again, uniquley innovated. Great concept and fantastic peices.

^ i have trouble seeing how roland mouret or balenciaga AND versace can be thrown the same list..... they're just total opposites..... !

I understand it ... they're all on mine ... and I don't want to wear any of them ;) It's not really about what they're doing and whether it personally appeals ... it's about whether it's well-executed ... I think anyway :flower:
