this was not an especially bad season.
only most of the big players were so shockingly disappointing, that we forgot to see the smaller pearls without gimmicky shows and stunt appearances.

for me the more independent designers just saved the day for fashion the last month. maybe the time of the big show monsters are coming to an end. it's interesting that nicolas was the only one of the a-desingers that get it right what women want today. clothes you can wear, not too much frills, no big show, just a clear vision (transformed from last season)

my other faves:

Delpozo
Superclassy, super feminine, very flattering for the dreamy type of woman

Iris Van Herpen
Constructed to impress. like a cool uniform, but also fluid, soft and full of great details.

Saccai
the best prints and the best colors for next year. i want everything.

Giambattista Valli
Forget the clothes this time, but the shoes? oh my, to die for.

The Row
this is the luxury for a new generation. a glorious statement against fast fashion (and the increase of designer labeling on clothes) too. Thank god.

Etro
It's hippy, it's fun, it comes from the heart. it's million times cooler than Isabel Marant. and the fabrics are just awesome.

Gareth Pugh
Just wow! his designs are just perfectly visualized. best concept this season by far.

^I agree. I don't know why some people only pay attention to the big houses and labels. Of course you'll be disappointed; they're mostly run by untalented hacks. It's the smaller and cult labels who are making the best clothes these days. Nearly all of my favorites delivered this season.

Favorites:
The Row
Zero + Maria Cornejo
Mary Katrantzou
Erdem
Tod's (underrated and ignored, unfortunately)
Antonio Marras
Prada
Anrealage (show of the season; I wonder why no one posted this collection here?)
Undercover
Dries Van Noten (in spite of the mixed reception, I thought it was better than last season)
Lanvin
Yohji Yamamoto
A.F. Vandevorst
Junya Watanabe
Haider Ackermann
Comme des Garcons
Sacai (again, underrated and ignored)
Tsumori Chisato
Veronique Branquinho
