obviously! :) i want the dress (you know the one you said would be the prom one) but seriously they can't charge more than £250 for that can they? :ninja:

jealous! :p although i do feel that the price they charge for that is just stupid

i like those unique suede leggings that went online today :woot:

with all due respect, you obviously don't know very much about how much garments cost to produce!!!
the make price on this would be very high, plus the cost of the trims. And it's made in the UK!!

Yeah but it can't be that much -they obviously make a giant profit. I found the EXACT fabric used to make the lace Boutique trousers in Goldhawke Road and it was £2 per metre yet they charge £55 :|

gossiping- They wouldn't be sweat shops if they were made in the UK. Nevertheless, they do overcharge. I doubt that jumper cost THAT much to make.

i just bought these chloé knock off booties the other day from the online store:

and because i could not decide between colours, i ordered the black ones aswell. :innocent:

are some of you doing this sometimes, too, buying the same shoes (or other items) in different colours, if you really like them?
it's kind of a habit of me.

can't wait for them to arrive!

gah, I swear everything I wanted is sold out in my size (how long will it take for them to workout everything in size 6/8 sells out first, so they should order more of stuff in those size :judge: ). There was such a gorgeous dress I wanted, but it was sold out in store and online - and now its just totally disappeared. Ditto the cream mini skirt with rosebuds on.

it's not just the fabric price!!! Thread, trims, buttons, zips, back neck labels, care labels, size tabs and swing tickets, pressing, cardboard boxes and poly bags or hangers and rails depending on whether they deliver flat pack or hanging, shipping & labour. The more complicated the garment the higher the make price. The trim was probably a bought trim from the far east, so add that cost on (to buy it as well as to ship it).

Oh I forgot fabric testing and dying. Oh and fit samples.

Have you ever turned your clothes inside out to see if they have normal or french seams. Or bound seams?

Then profit margin obviously. £55 is quite reasonable I think, especially since it was made in the UK which costs more.

I remember speaking to a manager at Topshop about this and I don't think they care very much. But I'm sick of pulling through rails of stuff in Topshop and them all being size 12. They always sell out of all the good pieces in a 6 really quickly, it's so irritating!

gossiping- I saw the dress yesterday . It's AMAZING irl. But you will never guess the price tag...

oh wow cool! uhhhhhhhh £100? or are you saying it's a lot more? £300? :ninja:

I have such a Topshop problem. Most stores I can control myself in but when I'm on that site I'm like a lunatic there's so many things I just can't pass up! lol I refrained the other day from buying a jacket though I'm proud of myself :p I love their t-shirts, no one else I know ever has them

Omg, anyone seen the Unique suede dress? It's 300 pounds. That's crazy imo. You can buy a high end designer dress for that money.

Also, the Emma cook boots are already sold out in most size and it's only 10 am. When did everybody else get up an place an order?

Those fierce Emma Cook heels are being sold to overprice on Ebay :( £90 was already quite a bit. I'm starting to hate those people who buy just to sell.

I guess people are setting their alarms early because they know how much money can be made with topshop stuff on ebay :( topshop's unique stuff, although really cool, is outrageously priced already but on ebay its got ridiculous. I'm sure 80% of the people buying the Emma Cook boots will have them up on ebay for buy it now prices of 300 quid in the next few hours. So unfair!!

I just got these:

The dress fabric is really nice and I love the tee but It's too big

me 2. and topshop is not helping when they dont make more size 6/8!!

btw those emma cook boots look really amazing in grey but when i was looking at 10sth they have sold out in all sizes!

i hate looking at topshop.com now! i always find something i like but they either don't sell it in topshop over here or it's way overpriced.

That's so crazy. Like you said, it sells for overprices already at Topshop and then additionally on Ebay. Do people really buy for those outrageous prices on Ebay? I mean, isn't the point of high street that it should be reasonable available to most people? But at the Ebay price level, you could almost buy "real" designer shoes/clothes, whatever the case is.

Yeah people spend crazy money on ebay - when the black leather leggings were first released I saw pairs going for triple the original price...I used to be confused as to who exactly would ever pay such inflated prices on ebay, but I came to the conclusion that its probably celebrity stylists, magazine editors etc who weren't able to get press samples. I couldn never justify spending that much on topshop stuff, as in comparison to similar-priced 'designer' versions, the topshop ones will be of a much lower production quality!
