Trend Forecast S/S 07

mundo almost the same thing as chapters? better? owned by the same company?

Lena, i'm not yearning for the 20's, but the fact that volume is going to hit shoppers is a very good thing...i'm always for the education of retail customers:flower:

volume and layering is going to be totally huge, its the cocoon/protection effect taking place here ;)

sorry, but i'm going to be a bit romantic here...cocoon...our times call for it, non? our bubbles are growing larger and larger as our world is getting smaller and smaller:ninja: :innocent:

I'd like to see a 1930's Lauren Bacall look, like in "To Have and to Have Not". Loose tousers, gabardine or sometimes silk. Jackets with a waist. Casual but so elegant. Womanly, but not so sl*tty or babyish, and not so "ethnic-based" as has been the case recently. (I have no clue what fabrics the designers have already chosen).

I love layering! It's great.

I think it will also become even more minimalistic as been meantioned before in this thread. It has becomed more minimalistic for every season.
I hope the black will stay a longer time.

You think the trench will work spring 2007?
it will always do well. but will it be as hot as lately.

Lena :flower:

My guess would have been: flowery prints, lace, soft neutral colors, minimalism and touch of the 80's.:p

I agree with Spacemiu about the 90's grunge comeback... as Lena said, in a very reworked way.

It's exiting

Lena...thanks for the insight! I can't even think that far ahead..... but it seems a natural progression from this year's spring summer and the fall collections.... not too dramatic a change...perhaps we are waving goodbye to florals finally - hard to imagine a summer without them though.....

you are all welcome

susie florals will still be there (either miniscule or blown up) but mainly on two/tone or tone on tone combos,

btw ethink looks seems fading out for ss07 (which can be good news i guess)

Thanks for the info Lena.

I love the thought of minimalism... yei! :D

^It will definitely cleanse the fashion palate after the boho trend of last S/S ;)

^ wish their subscribtion rates were a bit lower..
but yes, one of the best professional sites ;)

^The nice part about going to a fashion school is getting a free password to all the big fashion sites.

Oh gosh, I hate where fashion is going.

I think ankle length skirts are going to make a comeback (straight ones, not prarie style). I loved them back in the day but now...not so much.

off topic but still... can i bribe you to your wgsn password kimberwyn? (kidding of course) ^_^

I'd be glad to say bye-bye to the ultra-feminine frilly look - I'm buying clothes that look like cute girls' school uniforms in neutrals, eg. box-pleated jumpers. More texture than prints for me, but I still like the abstracts, eg. geometric patterns and hand scribbled lines. Hope I'm betting right.;)

:o
Who is it that decides the future trends?
There is definitely always more than one main trend in a year, so I was thinking it's maybe several communities of textile companies around the world (or maybe just Europe).

It's interesting my textiles teachers also know about some of these trends Lena's mentioned, although our school is maybe more art/craft-based than fashion-based. ^_^

prints are getting weak, apart from two tones or tone-sur-tone

Lena, since you mention only tones, do you mean prints will be monochrome?
