Trend Forecast S/S 07

but still, i'm all for anything beyond last year's interpretation of boho.
it's been a good year so far in 06; i hope it stays that way, personally.

Just wondering, do you guys think 50's and 60's are going to be part of S/S '07? I kind of got that impression from some of the pictures I've seen, but I'm not really good at that whole forecasting thing. I just kind of thought with all of the apron style pinafore dresses, and the skinny pants, and this beatnik thing, that maybe it'll hit the mainstream next Spring.

Hope so! It's definately not big where I am yet...I'd like to see the apron dresses over the skinny jeans with a stacked heel. Yum!

Oooh...and I'm really feeling plastic jewelry right now. Maybe the wooden, bo-ho beads will fade a little by next S/S?

^^ i dunno...all of those things are as mainstream as you could ask them to be
...like Lena said, it's very much by way of the 90's, so i am thinking pants may become wider, but skinny and wide are two silhouettes that have definitely been dominating fashion for the last couple of years..

..i hope things will become looser and away from the body, i think the main thing right now is to educate people what looks good on them

i mean..skinny jeans-not for everyone!

'modernistic' 50's / 60's with a Cristobal Balenciaga direction will be still there for ss07, as well as the nude theme which is working so well for ss06.
the way to 'predict' is taking lead from fw0607 and work it from there

its usually fw collections that set the ss mood

one thing seems clear, if there is any ethnic 'mood' it will be slightly asian

right, but look, this time around, it wont be 'costume'-y at all

its just an asian mood, not at all a reproduction of traditional styles
its totally reworked and based on details like obi belts and maybe fabrics/prints but translated in 'fresh' and not traditionally asian '07 colours

Colors...I would guess white will be stronger than black at this point and nude will still go on as well. Pale sweet colors will stand out in the first few months.

Prints: small and sperated flowers prints will be hot. Eastern styles of flowers, for sure, keep going.......

I would also like to know any Jewelry news for the SS 07' from all telants in here. ^-^

What colors in particular?
Gosh, it always seems so all over the place.
Slim and Wide, Light and Dark...
Layering doesn't seem right ffor Spring, it's so hot! I do like the look though..
I'm with you on the 50's and 60's.

well my friend works in forecast these are supposed trends

1. a more refined boho returns ie 70s breck girl
2. 90s fashion is creeping its way in fashion even more, so see more wider pants

3. boyfriend jeans , become more of a focus , but skinny jeans will be there
4. layering
5. 60s biba influenced dresses

I'd go with Gius and venture to say monochromes will be big next season since we had a quick look with a lot of the menswear collections last week and at least with the main brands, they always seem to do similar things for the women's shows.
