That´s what we could see in the Resort collections, the pastel colors are very strong as well big pants.

Magic, Pool, Project...s/s 09....trends and thoughts?

I took some photos for my blog (server problems, should be updated this weekend) at the recent trade shows in Vegas, and I was hoping that anyone else who was also there could post what they saw, liked, etc....
a few trends that i observed at project (womens and juniors) were:
-sublimation (still)
-tie dye
-bright colours
-printed graphic tees are apparently never going away...and i'm ok with that!
-hippy/bohemian look (in denim as well)
-dresses are still stronger than skirts
-maxi dresses
-cardigans
-stud embellished denim
-actual buttons as opposed to shanks on denim
-coloured stitch with a matching button/belt on denim
-rhinestones and glitz on jeans

*also, Nudie jeans had a great booth at Project....you take off your old jeans and they would give you a free pair of theirs! but as with any Nudie rinse....make sure you wash them first! my whole project bag is BLUE!!

that's more of a technique no?
i think maybe the general consumer would be not as knowledgeable / interested in the different types of prints, as compared to someone who is working in the business

harem pants look good as ethnic wear but as a western outfit it looks funny . They are damn comfortable and you can get them from indian stores for cheap as compared to the runway ones.

i say cotton lots of it! it's so light and easy to wear and layer
uh chiffon, silk, just really light and breathable fabrics

as for clothes
i think tailored jackets and bermuda shorts
t-shirts with pockets

Summer Trend Predictions.

What do you guys think the summer trends will be?

Personally, I have a feeling light and pale colours and oversized t-shirts will be seen a lot. And I think the high-wasted pants/shorts trend will carry over to the summer. What do you think?

I have a feeling that gladiator sandals will continue to be worn come summertime.
I am fond of bermuda shorts and jeweled sandals during summertime, maybe those shall carry along.

I think that the blogging world will continue to build upon the current obsession of sequins and studs and I think buckles will become a part of that category, probably in the style of Burberry. I also think that the versatility trend in garments will expand into finding creative uses for plain lengths of fabric. I agree with what seems to be a general consensus about the use of sheer fabric like tulle and chiffon very much a la Rodarte. Also, I think dip-dying and ombre in deep colours like purple and royal blue will make their way into lights and hopefully even skinny jeans, bandage dresses, etc.
