it's only too easy to snob trends, so lets see which 'real life' street trends we love (at the moment.. )

*black opaque tights are really catching up here, such a better view than the usual 'nude' versions
*more pleated knee skirts
*cross shoulder bags seem huge and growing they can easily 'save' the most boring look

cummerbund belts,victorian shirts,skinny jeans, ballet flats, big massive belts, flat pointy toe boots are all trends im loving at the minute.

Ahh :rofl:

I agree with the black opaque tights...I've always loved them.
Definitely as soft says...the neo goth trend, dark, mysterious, gorgeous :heart:
Agree with cummerbund belts, and flat pointed 'pixie' type boots.
Also in light (or dark :wink: ) of the neo goth trend...all the beautiful range of tactile fabrics.

lena i have to agree . . bags slung across the body :heart: {unless they're metallic} :P
but this look is SO gd . . esp. on cute boys :lol: !
+ i've been seeing alot of black tights recently tog. with contrasting pumps + flats . . ^_^

* neo-goth ! :wink:
* contrast trim on flats
* chocolate brown. :wub:
* chunky round-toe heels {mary-janes}
* lace

my list is short . . . i'm such a snob ! :innocent:
:lol:

I've noticed leather gloves on the catwalk lately...here and there in collections...and really love this, however I'm not sure if I've really seen enough for it to be classed as a trend.

love gloves (mainly leather and in colour as an accent to monochrome looks) but i will agree they do not seem to have gone 'street style' yet (anyway here is still a bit warm for gloves so.. i guess i'll have to wait a bit)

I have a pair of black ones with cream piping where the wrist is, and a cut out on the top of the hand with a press stud, (that I love) but I haven't been able to find them for the past week :shock: Would you say they were more of a trend lately? On the catwalks etc... as I say I recall a few pictures at least. I often wear them with black 3/4 length- short sleeved tops when I'm out at night, and somtimes just with fine knit v-neck cardigans through the day (to which my fashion tutor said 'oh that's a statement!' (I still don't know how to take that comment :lol: ), I'll definitely be buying some more this winter.

Edit: they had a tonne of beautifully coloured gloves in nouvelles galleries (an offshoot of galeries lafayette) when I was working in the accessories dept. in Rouen last year...I think that's what influenced me, I definitely found leather gloves to be more popular in France.

ballet flats.

hm... it's actually harder to 'love' trends than to hate them.:P :lol:

-Lacy camisoles - gorgeous underneath blazers
-Pencil skirts (and since when was this declared a trend? :unsure:)
-Long, chunky necklaces
-Skinny scarves (though many would argue that this trend is out the window) - I adore Burberry Prorsum's striped ones

- Boleros (not the cheap natty crochet ones though) or cropped jackets
-Ballet flats - EVERYONE wears them but for good reason!
-Distressed leather bags - Not as annoying as the metallic ones as they're very subtle and plus I have a thing for worn leather.
-Baker boy's caps - Everyone seems to be resurrecting them from a few years ago but they do look fab
-Black opaque tights - a winter necessity
-Skinny jeans - Yes, yes I kno...they are fast becoming a uniform and I'm not really a 'jeans' person but if they have to be worn, then the skinny ones are much better than bootcuts.

one last trend i have been seeing a lil bit of . . .

* play on volume - be it big volume / skinny . .
. . it has to be extreme :heart:

ballet flats for sure
I love the whole victorian thing
black opaque tights (of course I've been wearin em forever)

Oh great thread Lena!! I'll post some later on..... :heart:

*black
*new gothic
*high waist pants/skirts/shorts
*shiny vinyl or high gloss faux leather for bags, accessories, shoes....
*"square" messenger bags to be worn like a handbag on one shoulder (the one in red featured on Lily Donaldson for Marc Jacobs ss 06 is gorgeous)
*raw denim :heart:
*black sunglasses that are very small (no large frames) in high gloss black.... ..like the one at Miu Miu ss06
*sleek hair, NO highlights whatsoever, flat colors.... cut straigh across, no layers/chunkiness
*medium sized flat buttons in same color as the fabric
*punk
*minimalism
*long gloves, in black....
*no jewelry
