Trends you regret trying

When my girls were small they loved jellies. They had them in every color and I had to scrub their feet every night to get the dirt marks off.

haha EXACTLY why I wasn't allowed to get any!:D

When I was a kid (about 8, I think) I was wild for a pair of Jelly sandals, and I got a pair for my birthday--light pink with silver glitter in them. I loved them to bits, even if they made my feet stink and they were kind of rough, and the straps broke before the summer was out.

I thought of another crime to add to my list: broomstick skirts!

I had two. One I bought for myself was brown, olive, black, and cream, in a very regulated paisley pattern. The other was a hand-me-down from a girlfriend and it was peacock blue with pink, purple, and lime green tie-die doodles on it. Oh holy wow. They made me look like I had a barrel for a butt back when I weighed 107!

Yeah, I gotta say i like the blazer/hoodie look too.

I think my biggest fashion regret would be wearing baggy things, specifically those Jnco skater jeans with rediculously wide leg widths (I'm talking like 33")....but, I was like 12 so it's all good now.

I was just thinking that... i cant believe i used to wear those Jnco jeans back in 6th grade like 8 years ago... i guess they were cool back then though

I never got into the trucker hat thing, it always looked kinda stupid to me...and as for overalls i hated them even back when they were popular

i wore A LOT of babydoll dress in elementary/middle school with leggings....ughhh, i hated them!

Well I was born in '87 so quite bad times!!

My mum was the one who dressed me and decided what I would wear up until I was about 10 years old.

I remember alot of pink. Tights (the sheen ones), and I dont know if anyone will remember but those white socks with the like lacey frilly bit at the top (I hated them, my mum loved them, she still has them to remind herself of the days when as she says "I was nice".

I also remember lots of knitted animal jumpers, and really tight leggings with the like bit to put your foot in at the bottom. Gross!

When I started dressing myself, about age 10 or 11, and buying clothes for myself I made some huge mistakes but I thought I looked great!

I use to wear alot of sports clothes. Such as the neon coloured Adidas shirts and bottoms, I had neon orange and neon green. Nice?! Those popper trousers (until boys started realising how easy they could be ripped open!), combats, extremly big jeans, think circus tent and that is about the size!! Black tight trousers that got really wide and the bottom (they were like sponges, if they got wet, they water would travel up the trousers to you got soaked, they also did a really good job of cleaning as you walked)

I went through a weird faze of only wearing black lipstick, eyeshadow, and all black clothes (I was only about 12, luckily I got bored of that after just a month!)

oooh, wearing this vile glitter lipstick, it was just basically pure glitter in a stick, as a eye shadow.

Those gross skirts combined with trousers, I believe they were called "scowsers" or something like that.

I lived in trainers until I was 15, I would not wear heels ever, now resulting in wide feet! grrrr.

Butterfly hairclips, glittery of course.

Hairbands with my name on, yet again in glitter)

Big chunky rings made of plastic.

Pineapple ponytails

God I have so much more, but I dare not say them.

oooh, I almost forgot, the Spice Girls, argh, I brough 5 pairs of trainers / platforms, in Pink, green, blue, yellow and red. I wore them with everything!

I bought a pair of big baggy JNCO pants in 6th grade. My parents laughed at me when I came home and showed them and thus shamed me into never wearing them, ever. Thank God. One time when I was in 4th grade I got this tacky-*** shirt that I thought was SO hot. It almost showed my bellybutton, it was so short. It was neon green and yellow stripes  I thought it was awesome.

spice girls
baggy pants
cargo pants
butterfly anything
sunflowers

Anyone who lived through the 80's is guilty of heinous crimes. An outfit I remember fondly consisted of neon blue and neon yellow grafitti-print stirrup pants, worn with a coordinating neon pink graffiti print top. AND I wore a black scarf tied into a bow in my big, permed hair. I also owned gold stirrup pants, which I wore with a blue satin oversized shirt and yards and yards of fake pearls. Don't forget the tremendously huge shoulder pads. Ah, memories...

More recent fashion errors include monogram logo handbags and a poncho.

* Sigh *

is von dutch also passé in the US and other countries? in belgium it's really passé...

VON DUTCH IS EVIL.

England, no one likes it. Well apart from the people who are still behind in the fashion and think they look "cool".

Only one shop near me stocked Von Dutch stuff. They dont anymore. So it cant be that popular.

it was just one season...the newest trend here in belgium is wearing this really cheap ridiculous t-shirts from bikkembergs with a huge logo on it. almost every teenager has one! it's really sickning

its just so..."look at me, i'm wearing bikkemberg"

We called them "skants"- giving rise to the insult "you skant-scrubber!" and I thought I thought I was seriously hot stuff in mine. I wore it with a shrug, and my sister made fun of me- but lo and behold, the shrug has returned! I still think it's cute. I can wear it as a warmup to yoga and dance classes too.

How much fun was that spice up yer life look with the fake addidas pants, trainers, belly bearing tops and copious amounts of glitter?! I had: glitter mascara, glitter eyeshadow, glitter lipstick, glitter nailpolish and of course body glitter. I don't really cringe when I look back at old trends, it just makes me smile thinking about that time in my life.

Ah yes. Glitter.

I had glitter eyeshadow in all colours imaginabe, roll on body glitter, powder body glitter, glitter lipstick, a glitter stick that could be used as a eye shadow or lipstick, some spray that made your hair all glittery. I looked like I had just rolled in a big load of glitter. If I went out during the day I could probably have blinded people if they looked at me from the reflection of it all.

Then I had the jeans with glitter woven in them. Glitter and sequin tops.

I swear I thought I looked great. Now, looking back I look like a giant dam sparkle.

Fun times

Erm, a ponytail, that is basically right on top of your head, so it falls in all different directions and makes your head look like a pineapple.

If that makes sense!

Imagine a pineapple. Imagine the green leafy things are hair. It kind of looks like that.

I liked canvas shoes in the fifth grade. I remember seeing Brandy Taylo, a popular girl at school, sporting a pair that were pink and had yellow eyelits. I had to get some. Ugh. Bad fashion. But elementary school bad fashion is excusable, right?
