Trends you regret trying

A neon pink skinny tie with slate grey shirt and suit...mmm...yum...

Now you've got me thinking about pink and grey!

I actually think you can make neon tights look cool with certain outfits.

My unfortunate trend was Mr. T necklaces back in the '80s!! What the h*ll was I thinking and why did my family let me out of the house?!?!? I didn't even have cool ones. Hideous.

I'm a BIG fan of GREY and I love grey and neon pink together, as well as orange and grey.. I could go on.

Prince... that outfit sounds super cool!

i guess i regret buying one of those 'hot' ethink inspired circle skirts that are so popular in London at the moment..
i need to wear this only in totally 'non-trendy' places or else, i'm doomed, its a bit kitchy

..i feel so bad when caught up following trends

my mother bought me one of those years ago...i never thought of wearing it, untill about 6-8 months ago...now they are all over in the shops.

i don't regret any mistakes i made in childhood or in the akward teenage years...however, since i graduated highschool i'd say that my skirts over jeans (or any sort of pant) phase was a big mistake, as was the glitter in my eyeshadow, as was the coach bag trend. i carried nothing but coach bags for 3 years. they are so cliche!

now i don't really follow trends too closely, but i still make some heinous fashion mistakes almost daily. i wear hoodies constantly, even with the most beautiful clothing i have no qualms with throwing a mismatched hoodie on top. though even worse then that is the everpresence of the flip flop. i wear them everyday, even in the snow. i have worn them to weddings, funurals, graduation, prom, to 4 star resturants, out to clubs...i have them on at this very moment. i will literally wear them with anything.

-Chunky highlights in hair
-Getting bangs
-The school girl mini
-Platform shoes
-Loads and loads and loads of shiny shiny lip gloss
-Super tight and low waist jeans  (with the thong that shoes off)
-Large leather cuffs with metal studs
-Big hoop earrings

........

A Bathing Ape.

although i still wear the white sneakers i got, they work well as a pair of beaters.

also, not a clothing trend but those Tamagotchi toys (egg shaped machines where you supposedly raise a virtual chicken). I spent $400 HKD on one of them and played with it for about 3 hours before retiring it forever. What a waste of money.

^ LMAO Tomagotchi .. I had five of those

I also had 2 :D

No regrets here! High School wasn`t challenging enough for me so I was always bored to tears - taking care of my Tamagotchis during classes was a good distraction from boredom!

Collages

I was reading this topic, and thought: I have something nice for you... So I registered.

Last year, I've made some fashion collages (I'm the webmistress of a Dutch nineties-site). Most of all is the usual daily stuff from back in the days, not the runway type of clothes. Wanna see all the horrible nineties stuff? :p

I can't post the collages in the usual way, because they are fááááár too big. And about spamming... All text on my site is written in Dutch, and almost nobody here can understand it.

Anyway: Click and have fun!

^ very funny - brings back memories of my childhood! thanks for posting and welcome to tfs, tnf :flower:

Welcome TNF! Your pictures include some of the worst examples of that incredibly successful and incredibly ugly dutch make called Oilily. Arrgghhh! And it is still going strong!

I hate Oilily too, but back in the days, it was trendy. So, I decided to put those horrible stuff on my fashion collages.

In Rotterdam (Big, Dutch city) is still a special Oilily-shop in the middle of the shopping center. Totally filled with those childish stuff. Mostly red, yellow or pink, and with flower prints or something on it. Aaaaaaaargh!  :yuk:

floral bohemian-the gypsy thing. I was doing it a couple of years ago but then Sienna got famous and the whole thing blew up-so now, even if you were doing it before, you look like you're copying Sienna. Now I just have all my retro stuff but I've taken all the woodstock 60's stuff out-funny how the overexposure has made me go off it in a big way.
