Uggs

They have nothing to do with fashion.

They have everything to do with foot orgasms.

I love Uggs! I'm thinking about buying a new pair this year (I already have Baroque in sand, tall), I love those (Bailey Button):

But they're very expensive here, even 2 or 3 times more expensive than in US for example. (Mine were 270€!) So I found this site http://www.bootbest.com , but I'm not sure if they're for real or not. It seems too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience? Thanks in advance.:flower:

I just got some creme knit uggs for my bday.. i don't even like uggs but i guess they are pretty comfy. I use them around the house and when it's cold but I'm never going out in them!

I hate Ugg's. Not so much the boots becaue I understand the comfort factor but the brand UggAustralia.
Many years ago before Cameron Diaz and timberlake wore these boots they were just something you would wear around the house as slippers (in Australia, I don't know what it was like in the rest of the world). Then all fo a sudden these stars start wearing them and Ugg hires some marketing genius who somehow gets away with now charging ridiculous money for something that used to cost $30. I don't really have a problem with this because they have played the marketing game well. But.... there were a number of brands making top quality ugg boots until the actual ugg oz company trademarked the name Ugg (which is actually the style of boot, not a brand name) and basically unethically blew all of the smaller brands out of the water, saturating the market. UggAustralia could have been the market leader all well, but the problem is they have caused a lot of hard working Australian families in the industry to go bust.
So.... if you want ugg boots i suggest getting them from smaller companies that don't try and sabotage their competition. The prices are cheaper too:woot:

Uggs are horrible. I just can't stand them. They are in the same league as crocs for me.

^That's how I feel about them too.. but then I saw this girl wearing them and I think these are ok when you are having lazy days. But I don't like the other styles too much.

Isa I love those too! I don't know how much they cost in £s,but if you need to have them shipped to an address in the UK if it works out cheaper, let me know and I will send them on to you babes.

I'm going to buy a pair of the knit,I think most probably in grey,to help keep my tootsies warm this winter.

i have to say: it really depens on how they are worn and WHO wears them.
some people just look nice in everything.
but for my personal taste uggs are an absolute "no-go" :p

I have to say: I hate uggs more than ever. I think it's because everyone has them here in London and I'm talking about the cheap ones that bend at the back, not the actual ones made by Ugg.

I agree with stinah. UGGS are just not for me but I have seen other people wear
them and they looked really cute.

Isa - why not just order from shopbop? They are American, so the prices are the lowest and they ship internationally for free (as long as your order is over $100 or $150).

^^I've never heard of it before (I don't know much about online shopping anyway). Thank you!

edit: They don't have those I posted above. :(

Sea of Love- do you have any websites where you can get cheaper uggs (the boots not the brand name!) i just want a cosy pair of uggs as slippers that I can occasionally wear outside when I need to so not bothered about the brand name at all!!!

Personally, I don't think I look good in Uggs. I'm kind of a shortie (5'3 to 5'4) and they make my legs look even shorter. However, some people look pretty good in Uggs. I love my Uggs when I'm lounging about or when my feet are really cold. They're soft and warm. :)

I love Uggs. I would rather hang myself by my McQueen scarf before going out of the house in my Uggs. But I do think they are very comfortable, and I always put them on after a long day and when I'm just around my apartament. I just think they are heinous and I could never wear them out.

I bought a pair of classic/short in chocolate about 3 years ago when I was living in Germany and the winter was harsh...I have to admit that I rarely wore them outside, and haven't really worn them much since, but if I did, it is as house-slippers because they are so incredibly comfortable and warm.

I was just looking at shopbop's selection and saw the Classic Cardy Boots in Fig...I am quite tempted to buy a pair now...

I've never liked them. Living in a really wet climate, I've seen so many sad, sorry, soggy Uggs. Suede and knit are not made for rainy places!

I remember the first time I saw the knit ones back when I worked in retail-the girl told us the sales staff had told her they're great beach shoes. I think they were just trying to make a sale...one bit of sand and those boots would never be the same!

Yeah I agree, they are suited that well for wet climates. I don't understand how people can wear them around the house though. They have such a thick rubber sole. For me, it's comfortable to feel like I've got outside shoes on, when I'm indoors...

Many styles aren't actually horrendous. It's actually just the style we see most often, the classic style, that makes us gag in the streets. :yuk: The women's Kensington is actually pretty nice. ^_^
