Yikes, I find Carey's coverline very ironic because she looks like she's tripping on Valium. Also the shot is not suitable for a cover. Other than her expression, I'm quite chuffed she booked this cover. Her upcoming film features a strong feminist tone.

I don't like that it's the feminism issue and they styled her with a pantsuit

Im guessing she was pregnant when thsi was shot and theyre trying to hide it?

LOVE Carey and very happy to see her on the cover. Cannot wait to read her article, because she always has something interesting and thoughtful to say.

Poorly styled and Carey looks bored.

 Personally I don't see the problem with pants for this cover. I do however feel like the last 'feminism' issue cover and feature was almost devoid of actual 'fashion'. Not particularly impressed with the underlying message there. But lets see what Carey's feature will look like.

Fashion magazines trying to talk to people about feminism always makes me laugh. In my experience, financial education, awareness and independence is one of the most important real-life elements for anyone - man or woman - who wishes to interact with the world on more equal terms.

Fashion magazines usually devote one cursory page to the topic of credit cards, and then get on with the job of filling every other page with messages about why you need to spend your month's salary on an item of clothing that will be rendered unfashionable after a few months. Because that's what us girls do! And if it's a particularly boring yet expensive item, you're told it's an "investment piece". It's almost like wearing your pension on your back!

I might as well look for philosophy tips from a plastic surgeon's brochure.

I do enjoy magazines as the glorified catalogues that they are, and if they wish to profile all aspect of a woman's life on their pages, fair enough, but I don't find myself ever forgetting the context in which those articles appear.

Is this the 30th anniversary issue (the 1st one was November 1985)? If so, that's a lot of ho-hum.

You said it better than I ever could.

I always find Carey Mulligan to be really likable in films, but oh my god, she just just not suited for fashion magazines.

I love Carey but this is definitely not her best. What a shame...
