Subscribers Cover:

She's smiling like she finally got her long awaited revenge. Now that all her business is taken care of she can finally relax!

While the concept has been done to perfection before for US Instyle under Ariel Foxman, but I must say this image is more synonymous with UK Harper's. Simply stylish. Their take on fashion is really very masterful. It's always the story or woman before the fashion.

This is also my favourite issue of the year because we'll be getting the Art supplement! :magic:

Wow, it's her best cover in years! And I love this palette of colors.

Great image and colour scheme. It’s a way we’ve seen Julia many times but it’s definitely the best way she photographs so it’s alwats lovely to see!

These colors! I love it. Wonder what the news stand cover will look like.

I'm loving it, but I cannot help but to ask whether or not this is an original shoot by British Harper's Bazaar? This looks exactly like all those Lancôme promotional shoots Julia participates in, also regularly photographed by Alexi Lubomirski. Could be just a coincidence that everything looks so familiar!

You're right! It's a beautiful image and cover, but it really feels like those campaigns that you see at the back cover of magazines.

maybe they tagged a shoot onto a day of promo?

The dress has no form in that position and her smile looks forced. Too bad, cause Julia is amazing!

Yes, cannot see the structure of the dress and ultimately it looks like she's drowning in tulle. The festive accents would work better for December. But I do like the minimal text at least.

As she prepares to turn 50, Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts speaks to Bazaar about how meeting her husband changed her life, being selective when choosing new roles, and why motherhood is more important to her than making films.

Read highlights from the interview below...

On what she was like when she was younger:

"I was my priority, a selfish little brat running around making films."

She claims she changed after she met her husband (cinematographer Danny Moder) and becoming a mother to her two children:

"It was meeting Danny…finding my person. When I think about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shine inside of me, it's him. Everything has come from that for me."

On working on several films with her husband:

"There's comfort there, but also terror, which is a good combination. Terror because the person I want to impress most is looking right at me."

Insisting that most days she is a regular 'soccer mom' and housewife:

"If I wasn't here today, I'd be in the carpool lane ferrying my kids to school."

On turning 50 and preferring to look ahead rather than back:

"Too much thinking and pondering, it's exhausting me. Because we're still moving forward, aren't we?"

On how she rarely pursues new roles:

"I just wait to see what comes along, as opposed to looking for it. It makes it fun and organic…there's an almost unfair bar that a script has to attain for me to say, 'I'm going to drop everything for this.' Sometimes I think, 'I'm pretending my name is Jane and I work in a bank. That's kinda silly – I'm a grown-up woman!"

On whether she would consider giving up acting:

"Well, if I did much less, I wouldn't be in the business at all. I was saying to my husband the other day that I haven't worked in almost a year."

On always being selective when choosing her roles:

"Remember why you're doing what you're doing. That's your anchor. Cultivate your taste and decision making. I didn't work for a couple of years in my twenties, because I was being offered scripts and thinking 'Is it me or is this all just crap?' I figured I could cover my rent and wait for something good. I'd been spoilt with some great jobs already, so I was like, 'Why do that part with that person, when I was just doing that part with these people!"

On the gender pay gap in Hollywood:

"I put down my stone in a path that will keep going, and I'm proud of that, but I don't feel it's my place to bang the drum at this time. I just don't get all crazy over things. I have a maternal approach: 'OK, everybody settle down, we'll figure this out.'"

On feeling content about what she has already achieved in her career:

"Deep down, we all know you can't stand on the top point of a pinnacle on your tiptoes, and not at some point lose your balance, or get tired, or say, 'OK somebody else take over, I have to go to the bathroom.' There are great things I've accomplished and I'd be happy to accomplish more, of course, to impress my children and my husband. But you know what? I've been spoilt already."

The subscribers cover is a masterpiece, the newsstand cover is a mess.

So lovely! That smile is worth a million.

I love how the subscribers’ cover is so effortless. Beautiful!

The newstand cover is not doing it for me. The smile is gorgeous. But overall, it feels heavy.

I've said this before, she never disappoints on a magazine cover because her beauty radiates from within - people are drawn to her instantly. No styling helps or hurts her because she's such a natural force, she just shines through it.

She's the Christi Turnlington of actresses! Flawless.

I don´t even care about her but I´m in love with the subs cover
Newsstand´s can go home...
