UK Harper's Bazaar February 2013 : Anne Hathaway by David Slijper

The original cover with the concept looks so much more glamourous and natural than Anne's version. I really like "The Collections" ed.

Really like The Collections and Uptown Girl. Thanks for sharing, jchaussure.

while i'm really enjoying Anne's style evolution and am glad to see a under-appreciated photog like David Slijper get a chance at the cover these elements aren't enough to save this lackluster cover. the original cover sprang from innovation, a whirlwind of intense creative synergy of ideas exchanged between editors, models, photogs who dared to push the boundaries of fashion and graphic design. That Avedon cover was a cultural beacon which Liz Tilberis and her creative team paid homage to with her debut issue for HB. These two 'latter' covers were original and culturally relevant; people are still talking about their impact. Somehow i don't think the same will be true for this 2012 imitation...so far the contents are just same old, same old.

Thanks for the scans, love the McQueen and Prada shots from the Collections.

She's GOT to stop lifting her chin up like that, it makes it appear as if her eyes are sliding off of her face.

Disappointed in Slipjer here. Would have expected a lot better but this just looks thrown together and incomplete.

Its a disappointing cover spread, especially if you consider that it was Slipjer who shot her glorious cover spread for UK ELLE few years ago. He framed her so well then, but, and i know its early, Justine's Bazaar so far seems a bit dated imo. Hope she does better with the future issues.

cover looks like liza minneli, and not in a good way.
collections story too all over the place, doesn't work
cora emmanuel is the only decent thing in this issue. she looks beautiful.

I liked Anne's short hair on the cover and the pose.

I bought this issue yesterday.spring catwalk report is very good.

btw maybe uk and us magazines needs new celebs for covers.they always use anne hataway, alexa chung, gwyneth paltrow and jennifer aniston.needs new celebs.I would love to see new cool faces on covers of uk and us magazines.

After watching the Diana Vreeland documentary, I couldn't help but notice how much the new layout resembles Vreeland's Vogue. Justine Picardie's vision at Bazaar seems targeted to the more mature and intellectual woman who appreciates a dated method of fashion. It's working but will take some getting used to after Lucy Yeomans' glamorous, dark and mysterious Bazaar.

I have read this issue from front to back and enjoyed just about every feature, so I look forward to the next issue. Justine's take on fashion should really blossom in the March book too.
