UK Vogue February 2009 : Cheryl Cole by Regan Cameron

I also dislike the way that such behaviour is deemed acceptable because of her background. Cheryl says:

'I never denied hitting her and I would have hit her again at the time,' she told Vogue. 'That's what we were taught on the estate - you have to defend yourself and that's what I was doing.'
Reminds me of Michael Vick stating that he was torturing dogs because that's what people do in the hoods.
I wish these pin heads would not blame their background for their own shortcoming and stupid decisions.

I agree with your general point that Cheryl get so much moving because she is the pretty girl-next door. However, while the beating incident was probably her lowest moment, it wasn't her defining moment, so that won't be what she'll be remembered for.

Alexa Chung is not anywhere near a household name in the UK. Most people probably wouldn't recognise her walking down the street.

(Oh and Cheryl is definitely not the worst singer in Girls Aloud.)

Like someone said earlier in this thread: this is SO NOT Vogue UK  really. It rather looks like a nice Vogue US cover (nice, in comparison to their other recent covers :ninja:)

For me: no, thanks.

I love Victoria, but at the time of VB's April Vogue cover subscribers threaten to cancel their subscriptions. Apparently the magazine received record number of complaints.

Readers said that if they wanted a magazine with Posh on the front, they'd buy Heat magazine. ouch!

Then you should know that quoting Daily Mail who notoriously hates Beckham as a fact, is nonsense.Vogue never confirmed that, so how do you know its true? But what is a fact is that the issue with Beckham was not only sold out, they sold 30.000 more copies than usual, and that was confirmed by Vogue to The Guardian, which is a fact.

I'm sure Cole's issue will sell just aswell, but no need to diss one for the other.

I would have to disagree. This look pretty much very UK vogue.
The nov 07 issue featuring sophie dahl, which is also shot by cameron, looks very similar. Other issues like the victoria beckham, karen elson and kate moss for march 08, also does looked similar.

Anyways, UK vogue covers has always been more glamourous, which can be an inconsistant hits and misses. I'm more interested in the contents.:D

When I first saw this cover, and was shocked at how much I liked it. I really don't understand all this discussion about Cheryl Cole. They way I see it is, that she is on the cover. Deal with it. I certainty have. I must admit I was disappointed when I heard the rumor that Cheryl would be on the cover. But I think it has turned out great. Much better than I expected.

Shes 'the most popular television star on British TV'? REALLY? Can someone British actually confirm this?

I would have thought Alexa Chung was more popular. She's definitely more appealing and more fashionable. I wish they would have chosen her!

I can't believe Vogue chose a girl based on the controversy surrounding her rather than because she is a genuinely interesting person with something valuable to say.

As others have said she most likely is the biggest female star in UK right now, and Alexa is popular but largely not so well known........she may be 'more fashionable' but that doesn't mean she looks good because from what I see on TV here she regularly dresses like an old bag.

^Thanks :flower: i've got a subscription though and this is the longest i've ever wated to get it  I think i might just being litte impatient :innocent:

on vogue.co.uk in an article about the issue it said it was already out :ninja:
I'm looking forward to getting it too. I hope Gisele's Dior ads are inside.

I couldn't care less who Cheryl Cole is as long as the cover was good, which it isn't. Also I'm not impressed by the contents either. I really don't like Anna Selezneva much not to mention Karlie Kloss. So, this is another issue I'll skip. I won't buy it just because of the ads, I'll save my money for the March issues.

I don't mind Cheryl Cole at all, but the cover is ugly. I can hardly recognise her.

I'm really excited about the Terry Tsiolis ed. I believe its his first ed for Vogue UK :woot: Karlies ed looks good too.
