UK Vogue January 2010 : Rachel Weisz by Tom Craig

I canceled my UK Vogue subscription this year because it really is SO repetitive.Rachel Weisz,Cate Blanchett,Sienna Miller,Keira Knightley, always a circus ed by Tim Walker, really boring articles about memory loss and weight loss. The writing in it is SO bad.Not thrilling at all.

I can't wait to get the issue! I've only started buying British Vogue, and I wanna slap myself for not reading it earlier.

I didn't mind Cheryl getting her cover, because I understood why she got. She's ridiculously popular here, particuarly at the time she was put on the cover, and well, she's not simply a wag - she was famous before she became one... but why is Alex getting a feature? Did I miss something, did she suddenly become popular? Does she actually do anything other than being a wag?

^ Remember she has her very important page in New or Now magazine where she tells you what she brought each week from Cricket.

She will probably talk about how absolutely horrible this year has been with her husband beating up someone and getting off and how it effected her.

Like we give a crap.

I personally don't mind Alex Curran, she is something fresh for the magazine.
I can't stand another photo or article about some over rated celeb or wag for that matter.

What is Rachel wearing? Gucci Resort 10?

Vogue should be something more than just a celebrity venue... this magazine used to be extremely careful when making such selection... Now it looks like the day will come and Joran will pop on the cover of Vogue too ... she is extremely popular too...why do they put chav icons in this magazine... it is just unhealthy... and when I see something like that, of course, I blame myself for minding someone like Rachel W because at least she is beautiful, inteligent, etc...but very boring cover choice... anyway, I hope February will bring us something more interesting... and I am not suprised when people want to see Kate Moss on the cover again and again... at least she is a model and has got a style event though I am sick of seeing same cover choices again and again and again...

The cover looks really good, minus the fact she's a little lost in the eyes...and i think Weisz is more of an interesting choice of cover girl, even though she's been on the cover of US Vogue before.

Her last US Vogue cover was stunning!

^ Wasn't it also the worst selling issue of the year?

Perhaps she does better in the UK.

I LOVE RACHEL WEISZ to death but i do not like the cover and the way she looks here. A january issue has to powerful. It has to promote what the magazine envisions for the upcoming year. i think UK vogue fell short...

The cover looks a whole lot better irl.:D
Also there are about 6 pages about Alex Curran and there are 2 pics that aren't half bad....but they don't look like her so:innocent:
The other pics are just pics from events etc. looking like she normally does and the headline was something like ' could London cope with Alex' or whatever......couldn't even be arsed to read it.

I wish they would profile more designers, they have been some of the best reads I've ever had, but the last good one I can remember was Galliano back in 2004. Pugh, Kane, Bailey, I've yet to see much writing about any of these incredibly talented Brits, and its such a shame!

^Why do you always have to drag Britain into everything? I don't think I've ever read a post of yours where you don't mention it.

I don't mind the cover, I like Rachel and she looks pretty, but I can't really can't stand British Vogue, its so incredibly dull.
