UK Vogue June 2023 : Miley Cyrus by Steven Meisel

I love the main cover, it's very refreshing. With the exception of the two close-up b&w images, it's an 'okay' editorial. She needs how to work her mouth better!

I like the cover a lot more than the inside images. I love Meisel and I do think there’s something to this idea of his British Vogue contributions being viewed as a series. I half like the consistency, and I’m half bored with it. It feels like such a missed opportunity not to see Miley in a great summer location shoot by Meisel.

Maybe there's some personal reason for Steven doing only studio shoots, maybe something related to his health that only makes him able to work this way, so I avoid the negative thoughts about what's going on. If it's that, I wish the very best to him. I love his work and back in the days he did lots of jobs in studio, so it's nothing new.

Nor excusing his sh*tty work jest because it's by Meisel. Change the name to Sgura or M&M and people won't be this kind.

Am shocked by how popular it is here, even on IG half the comments really hated the main cover.

C'mon, we all know she doesn't look like this.
They should've tone down a bit on the photoshop.

So right now we see celebrites wearing archives collections and also we witness cover stars wearing past collctions released only 14 years ago? Fashion is dying, current collections are not worth it.

How refreshing.

According to an account I follow, Miley is wearing Prada SS 2009, the same infamous collection where the models fall down in the fashion show. Meisel phographed that campaign, of course. So nostalgic.

Update: Miley’s Vogue Cover Look Is Inspired By This It-Girl Approved Vintage Set

Some subscriber copies are already delivered in the UK with the BW cover; I hope someone posts a review of the page count and editorials inside.

I've got my subscription copy! They sent me the b/w cover, which I'm mad about because I love the main cover and find the b/w one to be kind of awkward looking... but never mind. Review below!

Overall I think it's a better than the past few months, but still feels like a typical UK Vogue issue. Nothing really groundbreaking, but there are certainly some nice shots and it has a pleasant summer feeling to it. Miley's article does that thing where it cuts off and continues at the back of the magazine, but they haven't done a good job of distinguishing that back portion from the rest of the issue, so on first glance it could be mistaken for an article as part of 'Into the Great Wide Open'.

There’s already a fair few subscribers disposing of their copies via eBay. Some aren’t asking too high a price for them either! :flower:

Thanks! I'm gonna go hunt down a copy immediately while I wait for the newsstand cover to be imported here.
