Undercover S/S 2006 Paris

This is definitely a step back from the more tailored collection of F/W to the amature tshirtish stuff. And the best looks I like are so painfully Raf Simonish (capes, big patches with images and script that evoke a feeling of a youth rebel without saying anything concrete) that they can not be thought of other than being copies...

You know, this is REALLY starting to grow on me. I think I like it a lot ^_^:p

^still rather disappointed, myself. Although,I'm liking the drama, there's a design aspect that's missing unlike previous seasons. And the tailoring! Jun really showed people how talented he really was by doing that A/W collection.

But like Runner told me before,he does seem to enjoy screwing with people's minds....confusing how he goes from one to completely the opposite the next season.

I gotta say I was pretty disappointed, I expected more from Jun. However I'm starting to "get it" more and more as time goes on. I'm pretty sure I'll like it by the time it hits stores. I have my eye on the shirt jacket anyway lol

I can tell already the tees that will hit stores come Spring 06 are gonna be RIDICULOUS...i love he's continuing the languid theme explored by Japanese designers like Yohji for Y's and Jun himself for UC back in S/S 04. Always interesting to see how they reinvent the t-shirt with tailoring and fabric choices...

In person review - VERY disappointing. I love the idea - basically this is all made of recycled tshirts, and you can SEE it (a lot of items retained the tshirt necks) - but the execution sucked. It looked very amaturish in person. On the runway the fabrics looked crisp and the colors rich, but not so in person. And it's exorbitantly expensive - a short jacket is $700+, a longer jacket is over $1k (it's all cotton):shock::doh:.

As I read through the various posts on Takahashi's S/S 06 collection, nobody seems to realise that his collection shoes the influence of 70s "kosmiche rock" i.e. the spaced out electronic rock that came out specifically of Germany in the 70s and spawned the likes of Krautrock giants such as Can, Tangerine Dream, Amon Duul etc....the "Klaus" on his clothes refers to Klaus Schultze, a major icon of that period and movement,...he has released alot of music over the years and is very prolific....so, there is a direction in the collection, as it showcases a krautrock vibe....so its not punk/biker but the "krautrock look"....:innocent:

Once again, beauty is in the eye of beholder but I think these are some rather horrible shoes, the rather offensive branding on the toe turns me off and I guess they will be way too expensive to justify the pricetag, in the end, these are still only jack Purcell's, not a luxury item at all... Well anyway, there will always be those that pay for it, knowing that it is a designer limited edition...

Almost 270euros, in two colors black and white, sold out in one day UC TOKYO shop......

At least the prices are not as shocking as those limited edition Nike's. I've heard some went for over $5000. Yikes! Anyhow with 270euros, I think there are alot of other options available :)
