Some actors/actresses who I feel is underrated

William L. Petersen
Vincent D'Onofrio
James Spader
Audrey Tautou
Julie Delpy
Rachael McAdams

I know that no one will probably agree, but I've always felt that Brad Pitt is underrated. He's put out some great performances, but he'll forever be known as a pretty boy.

But I loved him in Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, Seven, Legends of the Fall and A River Runs Through It.

xmodel citizen: I absolutely agree on you. I feel sorry for him for that reason. He's in one of my favourite movies Thelma and Louise.
I also think James Spader. I wish he was this huge moviestar maybe he's not intrested in that I don't know. But the one who is most underrated as an actor(actress) imo is Marilyn Monroe. Most people tend to remember her mostly as a beauty icon and a sex symbol and not as a good actress and that really bothers me. But she really could play a lot of different kind of roles.

think he was even nominated for an Emmy on his role in "12 Monkeys".
I thought he did a good job in, a River Runs Through It, Seven Years in Tibet,
The Devil's Own, and Kalifornia.......<----- in that one, I really disliked his
character, and when I really dislike a character in a film, to me that says
alot about an actor.....

I agree with you on all three. James Spader is quite brilliant and I LOVED him in Secretary. He even did a great job in Pretty in Pink

Same with Marilyn, she was fab in The Misfits.

I also think Tom Cruise. I think he was amazing in Fourth of July, Magnolia, Dracula(I believe the film was called).
Brad Pitt was really really good imo in Thelma and Louise and California.
I believe that for example Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are not getting taken seriously as much because of their beauty and good looks.

^ tom cruise wasn't in dracula. you're probably referring to interview with the vampire. i liked the whole cast of that movie. it's excellent! nowadays, tom cruise is just... whatever. but i do agree about marilyn and brad. brad's great in a river runs through it and seven years in tibet. and i agree with bodhitree's choices.

He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 12 Monkeys, Best Supporting Actor, didn't win though .

yeah, which is such an anomaly because the movie got a bit of attention. would it be unfair to also mention scarlett johansson? i think she's a fantastic actress.

I never got the big deal about James Spader...I just find him annoying.
