US Elle December 2008 : Carrie Underwood by Alexei Hay

She looks pretty but I don't think this is a very interesting cover personality.

I am intrigued by the American Idol makeover feature though!! I love Idol!!!

those pics are not too flattering for her...

I agree, they're very strange. They don't really suit her personality and the hair is...:P But for whatever reason I never mind seeing Carrie on covers, I find her pleasant.

The only thing that distinguishes that Gisele shoot from the shots I see in freebie fashion catalogues is that nobody let her dry her hair first. Possibly the most uninspired Gisele editorial I've seen in a long time, and they even achieve the impossible and make her look really bad (shot no. 6).

It's as if people realised there was something badly lacking in the shoot, so they decided, "Let's add edge to Gisi's look by giving her wet hair" but wet hair isn't really a sign of rebellion or the most desirable lifestyle accessory. It's a pointless attempt to inject edge into a dull shoot.

And I'm being this hard on Elle because we all know that Gisele can do her job really well. If they wanted to waste her by styling her like this, they could have got any number of other models to do the job. Gisele wasn't doing work this awful even when she was a relative unknown.

Whoever that girl on the cover is, she looks scary, like a man

Finally! Here's the UHQ scans of the Carrie Underwood 6-page editorial (minus the articles).

**All scans by yours truly

There's also a 12-page editorial with the Top 10 American Idol Season 7 finalists and I will post the UHQ scans for Cook, Archuleta and KLC (pfft, whatever with the others). As for the Gisele editorial, there are 8 pictures used in the edit (one of which is not seen on page 2).

Here's the UHQ scans of Gisele Bundchen's edit.

I love 80's fashion and I don't see a single hint of anything that looks remotely "80's inspired" in these clothes. At all.

^ I actually love this ed! I see a wee bit 80s but I think its because the stylist gave it a more modern approach..

elle has really step up their game when it comes to model selection
