US GQ September 2021 : The Weeknd by Daniel Jackson

This kind of styling suits him. I really like almost every photo so far.

Can't believe they still shoot fur in GQ. Truly despicable. Maybe PETA should put out a few posts on social, pull them in line. CN has a whole Sustainability Editor, what does she actually do. Fur doesn't tick the boxes because it's not ethical.

Anyway, the US cover is awful as expected because Mr. Tye Dye has no taste.

The Weeknd has new music comming up.

Even if his team bought these covers to promote his music... I see Conde Nast doing this more and more, as time flies (lots of issues with same cover/editorial cover). It bores me.

But yes, it does suit him this style and seems it's nice editorial. Nothing spectacular. Good cover.

Is fake fur, according to the brand IG account: “We make superbly crafted ethically sustainable faux fur coats made to be worn everywhere”

It’s slick, beautiful and grown. Cortina did his thing again. He should really consider doing celebrity styling because this is great.

It looks very serious, WSJ-ish but why not?

Is the fur jacket real? If so, it's nice to see magazines still use them.

Are you kidding LOL The twitter crybabies would have their pitchforks and torches ready to cancel faux-hippie and GQ if it were real fur.

(That is one ugly faux coat tho. Looks like something George dug out from his grandmother’s attic and makes Abel look fat enough to be Biggie…)

"Our first-ever global issue". Yikes Will...

Dying at Cortina mixing YSL and Celine in one look together. His brain.

That cover with the hat is 100% creep at the metro with that obnoxious 'you know what's going on behind this hat' stare.. that man knows no borders so I'd say.. good job at conveying 'global' lol..

You guys obsess over fake or real fur for no reason.. I didn't even notice .. and don't think it's even a debate on twitter, just here. Real or fake, for the beginning of august, it only screams 'armpit odor'..

Very bland editorial, i like his music but he looks bored on every photo.

I don't know if I will be able to handle multiple issues like this...

I like his music a lot and still listen to it regardless but after his little tantrum of not being nominated for the Grammys I just don’t see him the same way.
and any of these pictures help me change my mind.

^ it was the truth though, it's cool to have a private club of rich dudes who pick out their favorite music based on who played at their wedding, who donated the most to their organization, who is friends with their closest friends, etc. It gets a bit dubious to make a ceremony with the same dynamic but sell it as an award show based on talent and fairness, especially when it consistently involves aggressive retaliation for refusing to take part in said dynamics. He was 'canceled' for choosing where to perform and for not giving exclusivity to this event.. so he canceled them back lol. He could've used less pompous vocabulary but then, if you're into his music, it's kind of how it goes.. his lyrics from day one have basically been about being as a certified a*shole embellished as 'legend in the making'..

He's like the male Lana Del Rey to me. I only know his early hits (and I still like them). I wish it was Lenny Kravitz on the cover. He's hotter, more stylish and iconic to be global than The Weeknd.
So this will happen to Vogue in 2022. I wonder who will be on the cover for all the countries if that happens.
