US Harper's Bazaar April 2012 : Mila Kunis by Terry Richardson

There is a rumour at ipc that Marie Claire are having another redesign!

I just don't like this cheap-looking new design and Terry Richardson's photography makes it even worse.

mila kunis is really gorgeous, i just wish they would have done something else with her, it's so boring. the new layout doesn't looks as good as it did with the gwyneth cover either, i don't like the pinks.

What they need is a renewed purpose for existing on the newsstand. The marketplace has evolved and Marie Claire has been left behind. If it were me, I'd go for the angle of making it a place to find out more about women's issues, building on its history of having covered these topics in the past. It's the only thing I can think of which would give the magazine a 'voice' of its own again.

Not really have a fan of Mila or this cover. She doesn't have much personality despite the fact she's pretty and this cover is kind of just blah. Nothing interesting and it's cluttered with text.

I like the cover - I like the dress, the hair (except for the flyaways), the make up, the girl next door sexiness, but then again I am a fan of old-school Cosmo covers. I accept that there is going to be a lot of text on magazine covers, but I wish that they would not have blasted "Fabulous At Every Age" or anything else for that matter across the bottom.

I love her but I hate the cover! And that's quite bad since the editorial is lovely.
Is she promoting anything besides her Dior contract?

Mila has zero charisma and that shows in this cover. I don't know what exactly they could have done with her that would make her look better. That being said, the dress is amazing but all that cluttered text just hurts my eyes.

hah i knew the fabulous at every age wouldn't stay gone for long:rolleyes: i really do wish we could find out just how that feature compels people to buy the magazine...its there every month front and center, and yet i've never heard anyone say a good word about it.

are they only done the revamp issue for the March, seems like they're back to their old style with the tackiness overload

Mila is very pretty, but that cover is hopelessly bland.
So the revamp lasted for a month (coverwise at least), and then they are back to their usual dross.

im wondering where people are getting the idea that she has zero charisma from. I think her smile carries more charisma alone than half of the other cover stars we are accustomed to seeing.

I dont like the ed but i do like the cover; i also wish Terry would stop doing these cheesy shoots

In spite of myself I don't think that this is as bad as everybody is making out, but really... this is what they call a revamp?

They really need to get rid of this "Fabulous at Every Age" garbage. WHY do they insist on having that on 1/2 their covers?

that cover and that editorial  why did they dress Mila like a life size Barbie doll?!?

Glenda what the eff is wrong with you?!? You have no creative nor artistic vision. For someone who supposedly champions the arts and views fashion as a transportive medium you have some sh*tty taste and stoop to the lowest common denominator, redundant, mundane way of presenting high fashion. I'm truly flabbergasted.

what mild interest I had in Julia von Boehm as a stylist has all bit squelched with this horrific never ending, train-wreck of editorial sludge. thanks Glenda for sucking the creative soul out of every talented BAZAAR editor and photographer (Terry, Demarchelier, Lindbergh, Ward, Wolf etc ) I'd grown to love and respect over the years.

HB is just the same month after month... Same text, same terry (It was nice to see someone else shooting the Feb issue) same boring cover. I hope the white background does not become another trend, they clearly do not know how to pull it out. Shame Glenda has no eyes nor the capacity to lead a fashion magazine, she should be editing some teen magazine instead, where with collage of J Bieber et al it sells. Poor Mila :(

Bazaar is just so abysmal
Honestly this is terrible, and Richardson should never be allowed to photograph for a beauty/ glamour/ fashion magazine. His lighting is harsh and unflattering and he doesn't know how to make the model look their most beautiful
... and the photoshop, and the styling..... ye-ugh!
