US Harper's Bazaar May 2023 by Lucie Rox, Bryan Liston, Amy Troost & Daniel Jackson

Terrible lighting on all the covers but Akon's ed is interesting.

Daniels’ offering of Devyn’s is the only worthy cover. She’s a straightup gorgeous woman who photographs so splendidly: Worthy of the “Finding Beauty" coverline. Of course the slightest hint of a smile would be nice— but, serious/sad/depressed is Samara’s thing. It’s not changing anytime soon LOL

Each ed has at least one photo that would make a superior cover. Samara always makes the worst choices. I refuse to believe she likes her job.

Irina is one of my all time favorites, but that cover doesn't even look like her...

I'd take Samira's "joyless" Bazaar over Glenda's gaudy Bazaar...

the WORST Bazaar edition worldwide and it clearly shows. Samira should be fired ASAP.
GOSH : every single cover is boring and depressing and there's no joy / no magic / no spirit = nothing !!!
I can't believe I am missing Glenda's Bazaar !!!

It’s a skimpy issue at 130 pages, but the Devyn/Irina/Julia shoots are impressively solid. Deyvn’s is pure smoulder— every single shot, not a single miss. The styling is so complimentary to her and Dan’s eye is supreme: If only he was the resident photographer. And there’s a shot of Julia in YSL where she resembles Guinevere van Seenus. Why she is constantly shot looking ever the plain Jane, I’ll never understand. There are some stellar shots for all the stories, and as usual, the blander selects are chosen for the covers. Samara must be trolling the Glenda-sympathizers LOL

Again and again, the pedestrian art direction really drags the mood of the plaintive aesthetic down down down, and kind of cheap cheap cheap.
