US Vogue January 2009 : Anne Hathaway by Mario Testino

I really don't like Vogue US's "best-dressed" lists. They always feature rich women and articles that name-drop designers. From the pictures, I can see that they are sophisticated, but in no way special enough to be on a list. Also, I was at the same Koons exhibition as that girl in the picture and I'm pretty sure there was a "no photographs" sign!

I just saw the issue at the bookshop, it's shockingly thin like a tabloid
January issues are usually thin though, for most monthly magazines. This one's about the same thickness as January's Harper's Bazaar. I believe they just have less ads, because brand new ad campaigns for the spring season come out in Feb (or March?)? And then come September, the issues are always SO thick, but most of the extra volume is ads. I broke my home-made totebag last time carrying the vogue home.

:angry::angry:FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WILL SOMEONE PLEASE FIRE ANNA WINTOUR!!! I am so tired of seeing these dull, vanilla actresses on the damn cover. Always the same style, always the same poses, always the same supposed American Sweethearts. Nothing edgy and not even that fashionable....btw the cover is ugly. Anne normally looks a lot better than this.

photographs were allowed there. us vogue also usually has permission to shoot at the met (indoors and out), especially given their relationship with the costume institute and the gala every year.

since when they changd this woman who used to style those eds ????
she had an italian name ... where is she now ?

Lauren Howell usually edits still-lifes and 'headless' model accessory editorial with Meier, so I was surprised to see her edit this ed

Ha! Maybe she's allowed to work with "heads" now.

I appreciate the editorials that focus on accessories because you get a good sense of the textures, but it's nice to see the model's face in one or two shots.

sorry but i can't help but laughing at the miumiu shot ....
i have to relook the collection because that didn't really strike me the first time ... but there i was shocked !!! ... and it's 1000$ bag ... i cannot even imagine the price of the dress !!!

:ninja:

Yes, that's some very expensive "texture". It's an insane recreation of a thrift look at an astronomical cost.

Wow. I loved that beautiful lace dress, looked like Dior out of Kate Moss's closet. Shocked to find out it was Marchesa. :ermm: Anne is a beautiful lady, the cover is horrible. Her edit is gorgeous. One of the best for a celeb in a long time...and Chan. and Jord. edit is okay. Jordudn looks beautiful. Love her.

Thank you Luxx!

Definetly Anna needs to go.
She has not done anything new and fresh or edgy in looooooooooong time.
She is getting old and we need new blood in this whole magazine.
*hahah*
Seriously, this is getting annoying...
