US Vogue January 2010 : Rachel McAdams by Mario Testino

OMG! I love every picture of Sasha's editorial! :woot: So fun, with all these people and Sasha looks great too; thanks for the scans Luxx! :flower:

Luxx, thank you for scans!
blueorchid, can't wait to see Daria's ed too...

That editorial is pretty fun and lively, not my favourite out of the recent Meisel pieces in US Vogue, but there's a vibrancy in some shots where Sasha and the musicians are connecting...the Burberry and Rochas pictures are my favourites as they show both the quirkiness in the pair-ups but also the beauty of the clothes...I think it also appeals to me because it's quite reminiscent of early 00s Vogue US

Thanks Luxx :flower:

I can't stand this editorial, really. Let alone I don't have any idea who all of those musicians are, it looks so stiff and unnatural and the hair styling is awful. When I saw Sasha is going to be in it, I thought it's going to be fun etc., but it just doesn't work.

Oh, and I really admire Frida saying she made Gucci more optimistic when each collection causes a heart attack and leads to depression.

I love that Meisel shoot. Great to see him doing the new collections ed again. Thanks for scanning.

I think you may have liked it better if you were familiar with their work; some of the shots make a lot more sense when you like these guy's musc.

And you'll like it even more when it gives Meisel ideas for a future Vogue Italia cover.

All these musicians look so young and uncorrupted, like people in their first year at college.

sasha/meisel that's something xtra special indeed..
love that ed, it's so alive and happy :woot::heart:

thanks for the great scans!

The cover looks almost 90s to me, horrible lighting, and styling makes it look dated. But i would love to know about "The Bravest and Best dressed of the decade", is it a regular socialite filled Vogue list? Or were the people on the list especially photographed for it?

It's not about the lack of sense, but the styling, poses and expressions which don't have much to do with their music. If they put Alison Goldfrapp here (who I personally adore), it wouldn't change my opinion that much. Well, as I said before I just may be somewhat prejudiced to Vogue US.

Call me crazy, but that doesn't look like Sasha in the MGMT shot. It's Coco's nose, non? Or am I just crazy?

Love the ed, BTW, especially the one with the Burberry and the MGMT shot.

I'm with you on this. While US Vogue has never been a personal favorite, I love Sasha Pivovarova. But this ed is just all around blah. While the styling, which I dislike, is a matter of taste, I guess, I just don't see a real connection between Sasha and any of the rest. Only the Balmain and Givenchy shots do anything for me at all (thanks to good posing from Sasha), and even they are ultimately ruined by amateur posing from the band guys. With a bit of effort this could've been a genuinely fun ed, but as it is now it's just a representation of lazy direction imho.

Preview of Raquel's editorial, the picture with Sam Worthington, it looks really interesting so far! :woot:

Now that is not something that I expected out of a Norman Jean Roy shoot...but it does look to be major so far, I'm not keen on Raquel's hard expression but the Rodarte looks great for the setting I suppose..

I'm undecided RN
