US Vogue January 2011 : Natalie Portman by Peter Lindbergh

Joan's editorial is not what I expected, it's not that bad though. Wish more of her upper half was used in the frames which only highlighted her legs and shoes~

I really like the fact that Darias editorial is different from what we usually see of her.
I love Lara's and Natalie's, although I still think the cover is a bit dull and I'm kind of disappointed in Joan's, I was expecting something else, I guess.
Overall, it's a good issue!

McQueen tribute

Incredible contents once again. Daria's story is magical. Its so great to see this softer side of her. Reminds me of her early work. Its a typical ed from US Vogue but the styling + David and Daria make wonder.
Lara's ed is really good as well. Only Joan disappoint me a bit.

I love US Vogue's take on Lara, it's so refreshingly different from what the others do. All the others just piggy back on her VP role. The issue is already boughten!

This issue looks very good. Surprisingly, I love Joan's shoe editorial. Possibly my favorite story from this whole issue.

Arch Rivals with Joan Smalls looks like something that I've seen before in US Vogue. But nevertheless, it looks good and I'm glad Joan scored that editorial. Love the idea of the shoot and the styling as well. :)

Raquel Zimmermann by David Sims

I really like Raquel's ed but I wish they had done her hair differently. It's too similar to the hairstyle in the December issue. Thanks for posting, tarsha.

i really wish they wouldn't use her in every single issue......enough is enough!!

Seriously, what a fantastic issue. I'm personally in love with the Arch Rival editorial. Plus, I'm just amazed by the McQueen & Rag & Bone shots. The clothes just stand out & look amazing in each of their respective shots.

She's doing a sponsored jump for charity, should be coming back down to earth sometime around March 2011.

Raquel + Sims - Boring, same thing from last issue.

Joan + Meier - Great, love the effects.

raquel regular appearances on vogue us and paris just prove that she is a damn good model. and im sure her professionalism is a major factor too

Does anyone have Daria's edit with text?
And okay, there are many things to say with the coming of this January issue.
#1: I like Daria's ed, but to me its kind of a typical "Famous model+Famous actor+Storyline+Grace or Tonne styles" kind of vogue edit. Recent examples include "Magnificent Obsession" with Natalia and Ewan McGregor (with Lindberg also shooting) and "Dangerous Liasons" with Lara Stone and Jeremy Renner shot by Klein. They're are MANY other examples, and i'm not saying these are bad, they just get repetitive.
#2: I really think Meier has phases that he gets into. He has had a very certain style up until about mid this year, when he started with this softer sort of style (starting with "The Bright Side in the July issue, and "Classic Revival" in the August issue, but now i see this very precise style in the last two edits of his (this month and lasts) and i cant help but wonder if this is his new style. I sort of like it.
#3: Poor David Sims. At one point he may have been a fine photographer, but now he just does jumping studio shots with either Raquel or Caroline. Anna has sucked the creativity out of him.

I'm not too sure, her expression is lovely, she looks graceful but her hands/arms are strangely positioned
