US Vogue March 2021 : Gigi Hadid by Ethan James Green

Gemma!

Why they haven't made that spectacular image a cover is beyond me... I don't even mind the Gabbana. She looks magnificent, so good to see her!
That being said... the rest of the issue is a mess. The page count is criminal! Vogue Ukraine had more pages for a january issue! January! This is supposed to be the big spring fashion month. What happened?

That shot of Gemma is breathtaking and singlehandedly annihilated the rest...

That’s it? Only one proper ed and a collection of some random shots?

They managed to make Trentini out of proportion and not in a good way....

Curious nothing have been made in Italy...maybe pandemic issues? Strange specially i see all the italian magazines producing their issues normally during the pandemic.

Why so much Max Ortega? He is so overrated.

A flat boring issue, saving 2 or three pictures.

Jump Caroline, jump! :clap::clap:

There's definitely some great stuff among this mish-mash they threw together. What was the concept? It isn't cohesive, it doesn't look well put together, and even the good images get lost and overlooked in the overall mess. Would've been a very solid issue if they broke down this long mixed editorial(?) into smaller but more elaborate editorials: Gemma, Alek Wek, Caroline, Bella, Mona, Xiao Wen and even Hailey all had potential to be interesting editorials. But instead we got... this. Choices.

Agreed.

I am grateful that they used professional models and photographers (mostly) unlike Vogue Italia....

Aww, no! LOL. I like Max Ortega's work, in fact next to Jorden Bickham's it actually looks masterful.
He styled not only the Mexico shots but also some of the Paris and LA ones, plus that Vogue China cover under Anna. Looks like he's on his way to the US Vogue masthead and I'd only be too happy. It's the type of basic styling this magazine needs.

I don't hate the main editorial, many of the shots are stunning and as Aracic said had they been full edits it would have been even better. As with last month I think it's great that a lot of underrated photographers are getting shine.

The best ones for me are the shots in China (so now that Anna is in China she's all about that country, lol), Mexico, Australia, Senegal and Karen Elson in New York. All the London and Paris shots are terrible, and nothing from Italy and Japan, fashion's go-to countries for editorials?

US Vogue is officially no longer US Vogue. It looks like a glorified version of Dazed down to this very multi-photographer concept which is actually a cost-cutting measure because they can't have paid these photographers much for single/double shots. None of what I'm seeing is grossly awful but it's simply not Vogue.

Overall a solid issue. They can have a tighter edit with no IG gang (what with Kendall picture with the red top, does she know how to model anymore?) more Wek, Ward, Trentini, etc... Love the Chloe X Halle edit, they look like sea nymph (or mermaids :shifty:) dressed in gold and glitter. Is "Bright Ideas" inspired by M du le Monde accessories editorial? if so le Monde is still far more superior.

Free tourism magazines are thicker and more carefully shot. I'm now sure that hack photographers are another global pandemic...my hometown couldn't look worse!

Xiao Wen Ju by Leslie Zhang would have been an amazing editorial with more shots...at least chinese magazines give her talent the exposure it deserves.

Thanks god for the Vintage Magazine subforum, this issue was just depressing!

That Gemma shot is gorgeous!

amongst all these other portraits some of which aren’t good but mostly ok. The gigi Ed looks even worse, I still can’t believe they actually printed that expression for the cover I’m sorry she just does not look in the same league at all!

having seen Kendall giving 0% yet again I promise to never complain about a Hadid or Lila moss again!

It’s so crazy that Gigi and Bella are sisters their modeling is so polar opposite and especially for Gigi being the older sister you would think she would be the stronger model but she sadly isn’t even that one photo of Bella in that awful Givenchy dress is better than Gigi’s entire editorial

Exactly, what's even stranger is that Bella doesn't have a US Vogue cover when she's twice the model Kendall and Gigi are....... combined, who have multiple US Vogue covers. Even Hailey's got a cover.
