US Vogue November 2008 : Reese Witherspoon by Mario Testino

I like the cover. simple but nice. Coco's pic looks good as well. The rest of the eds don't seem very original but I can't wait to see them.

BORING as usual. If theres one thing we can count on for US Vogue - its the consistently predictable content and the influx of celebrity culture.

And really that Coco/Klein photo is just stupid. Klein is about sexy girls and baring flesh - Coco...is an Irish dancer, lets put it that way. :ninja:

Seriously, why do people buy this anymore? Surely it can't be for a source of inspiration? :innocent:

I only wanna see Natalia's ed but even that will not make me buy the issue.

I have only bought oe issue this year, the Sex and the City issue. ^_^

If editorials were all about being real. They would be very boring. It's all about creating an appealing photograph, a fantastical ethereal whatever that's why editorials have themes. So figure!

Editorials are about fashion professionals doing a good job - and that includes special effects. I don't mind all sorts of visual trickery - my gripe isn't that at all. It's the sheer shabbiness of the effect, like someone cut-and-pasted a fire and slapped it atop her head.

The point about 'American women going to work' was a phrase I was responding to, for me, the editorial can be about whatever it likes - breaking the laws of physics in a Prada dress - as long as they get a good designer at the computer to produce the end result.

I also dislike seeing this in films - where there's a special effect that's totally at odds with the style of the rest of the film. I'm too critical to be able to suspend my disbelief and 'accept' the disparity. No matter how sophisticated, there's still a visual crudeness to a lot of special effects that offends my eye. You can see the computer in it, rather than the art.

The idea of that Coco picture is something that ANTM would do, lol.

It was done on Holly for Make Me A Supermodel US

The Coco shot is actually from a beauty feature for "fried' and damaged hair. It's not actually from an editorial where she's walking around in twenty shots with her head on fire.

Well our Coco looks a hell of a lot better than that Holly person

Thanks a lot for the review, Luxx!

I'm looking forward to seeing Ali and Caroline!

Can't wait for Natalia and Caroline's eds.
Coco's ed is wonderful so far, especially her eyes. I wanna see the whole ed!

Can't wait to see this..
  here, here. sounds like my kind of trio.
Really excited to see this, and Natalia's family story.. she's my Lindsay Lohan, I could go for hours just seeing her interviews, pap pics, articles about her children, you name it, it's ridiculous. :ninja:

regarding the cover, it's not that bad. I like the brightness, and having swallowed the fact that this november is a patriotic month in the US for hopefully all the right reasons, I think it's wonderful.. it gets you in the mood and feels a lot less obnoxious than Harper's cover with Drew. Not to mention Reese is a lot more sympathetic, she's undeniably talented, has a flawless career and can talk about fashion in a rational level of importance.. doesn't sound incredibly pompous a la SJP or self-absorbed in her image or studied to say all the right names a stylist could be whispering 24/7.. I like her. ^_^

so much for not seeing natalia and her family in another vogue story...
seriously, they're all the same...
she sold fruit, she became a model, she married a lord or whatever, she has a gorgeous family...yada yada yada...

thank goodness for reese's ed...
i'm excited to see caroline t. not jumping, and natasa v...:heart:

:lol::lol:
as much as i love natalia, i agree...so sick of them using her for the same concept...and i am NOT excited about seeing trentini once again in vogue- jumping or no jumping, she doesn't appeal to me...sick of raquel also

she should be smiling her smile is so radient. It's what he's known for. Whs with the smirk?

Yeah I love her real smile it's so lovely but she does that smirk a lot...a lot so I guess people know that too. But I don't like it. It changes her from sweet southern young mom to bitchy starlet. I like Reese Witherspoon but I'm sick of all of these bad Vogue covers. Although what do we expect? :innocent:
