The Life Fantastic made a huge impact on me as a teenager for some reason.. something about the inspiration, the excess and fantasy.. I would always stare at these pictures scanning every detail and finding new things every time, and I drew that Gaultier dress over and over!. That photograph in particular is still so beautiful to me and an all-time favorite .. there's just something grandiose about it all (starting with the owl!). That Chanel HC collection with the Edwardian inspiration and so somber is also easily in my top 3 from Chanel.. so gorgeous. And Lacroix's reds, the textures of that Balmain regal number, the Dior headpiece. It seems we were already then in the last 5 or so years of Haute Couture being purely creative, extraordinary and unapologetic.
