V Magazine's Top 10 Models of Spring 2008

The only girls that stand out to me are Egle, Kori, Ali and Taryn.

Half of these models have nothing special and half of them are really ungly.

honestly, i whole-heartedly agree. :innocent:
not with them being ugly, but a lot of them are just so. . wtf

I like most of them except Masha,Kori and I'm not sure about Flo

10.23.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #10 ADINA FORIZS
The future's bright for this young Hungarian

10. Adina Forizs (IMG)
"Although Adina grabbed the coveted number one slot at Prada this year, she comes in at number ten on our countdown as she'll remain something of an unknown quantity until next season. Her Prada/Miu Miu exclusive means she was not seen on any other of the international catwalks. She made her mark nonetheless and has already shot for French Vogue. Next season will be major for the 20-year-old from Budapest."

10.29.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #9 FLO GENNARO
The Argentine beauty is staging an entrance

9. Flo Gennaro (Supreme)
"Supreme has quickly become the runway star factory and Flo is the latest of their discoveries. The individuality of her look and her presence on the runway are undoubtedly striking. This 16-year-old Argentine started slowly in New York but her starring role at Jil Sander set her up for a very strong Paris season that included exits for Ann Demeulemeester, Nina Ricci, and Louis Vuitton."

11.05.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #8 TONI GARRN
The German teenager is propelling forward after a Calvin exclusive

8. Toni Garrn (Women)
"The young German beauty Toni Garrn is another unknown quantity due to her worldwide exclusive at Calvin Klein. Only 6 months after her first test shot, stylist Karl Templer handed her the coveted opening and closing slots of the Spring/Summer 2008 show. This sets her up for a stellar season of editorial, beginning in V51 with the next chapter of Mario Sorrenti and Jane How's fashion saga."

11.15.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #7 KORI RICHARDSON
Meet the latest star from the Great White North
111607koriXL.jpg

7. Kori Richardson (IMG)
"Kori is the latest Canadian runway star, following in the footsteps of Jessica Stam, Daria, and Coco Rocha. Much like many of the best girls this season, Kori didn't really make an impact until the shows got to Europe. In Milan, she walked for Jil Sander but it in Paris she hit her stride with bookings for Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen. Look for her soon in Another Magazine photographed by Daniel Jackson and in a star-making campaign by David Sims which shall remain nameless for now."

11.19.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #6 EGLE TVIRBUTAITE
The options rack up for this young Lithuanian
111907egleXL.jpg

6. Egle Tvirbutaite (Major)
"Egle is by no means a new face. In fact, careful management by Major has enabled her to finish school while keeping the pulse going on her career. This charming 19-year-old has a level of professionalism that reminds me of a young Raquel Zimmermann. Clearly the top houses agree—she walked for Balenciaga, Chloé, Givenchy, Christian Dior, and Vuitton. So does David Sims, who shot her as the only girl for next season's Gianfranco Ferré campaign as well as in a story for Italian Vogue. Fabien Baron is also hot on the trail, having photographed Egle for French Connection. Also look for the young Lithuanian in Another Magazine by Josh Olins, Mixte by KT Auleta, and in an upcoming V by Simon Burstall."

11.26.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #5 MASHA TYELNA
All eyes are on the rising Ukrainian beauty
112607mashaLL.jpg

5. Masha Tyelna (Women)

"Masha is perhaps the most striking of the new girls this season. Her otherworldly elegance already captivated the imagination of Steven Meisel, who shot her for Italian Vogue last summer. I myself couldn't wait to get her in one of my shows and her first look at Luella this season remains one of my favorites. After that, she went on to walk for Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten, and Chanel, among others. Watch out for Masha and her unique saucer-eyed beauty in V51 by Mario Sorrenti and Jane How and in i-D by Tim Walker."

12.06.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #4 FRANZISKA DRUDE
She only hit Milan but the entire world was watching
120607franziskaLL.jpg

4. Franziska Drude (Next)

"I met Franziska at my Pucci casting in Milan and I was blown away by her natural beauty. At only 15-years-old she has a lot of time to develop as a model, thus her high position here reflects how much I think she will achieve as she grows into her look. She only did the shows in Milan this season due to school commitments. But walking for Prada, Marni, and Alberta Ferretti is a pretty perfect start to what I believe will be a glittering career. Look for her next in a 12-page story by Robert Wyatt for 10."

12.14.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #3 TARYN DAVIDSON
The fresh-faced Canadian came off her runway exclusives to a major editorial season
121407tarynLL.jpg

3. Taryn Davidson (DNA)

"Without a doubt, Taryn is a star of the future. Had she not been exclusive to Calvin Klein in New York and Jil Sander in Milan, she would have done all of my shows (and most of the other top shows no doubt). She has all the ingredients: the height, the perfect blend of fresh beauty and a wonderful personality. Out soon is a Benetton campaign with David Sims that will lay the groundwork for her Fall 2008 season, as well as only-girl stories in Italian Vogue with Nathaniel Goldberg and German Vogue with Alexi Lubomirski."

12.18.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #2 ALI STEPHENS
Meet the new Chloé girl and the quintessential face of the season
121707aliLL.jpg

2. Ali Stephens (Elite)
"Ali is yet another girl who had Milan exclusives and exploded onto the scene pretty late. Therefore it may be surprising to see her this high up on the chart. However, I really think her great fit and classic beauty is going to keep her at the top through the autumn shows in February. For Spring 2008, Ali opened Chloé and booked pretty much every other top show in Paris, from Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Miu Miu all the way through to Dries Van Noten, Chanel, and Givenchy. Breaking in the next few months: her much-lauded Chloé by Craig McDean, plus upcoming work with David Sims, Patrick Demarchelier, Mikael Jansson, Alasdair McLellan, Terry Tsiolis, Richard Bush, and Daniel Jackson, among others."

12.21.07 TOP 10 MODELS OF SPRING 2008: #1 KARLIE KLOSS
This gorgeous American leads Spring's new model army and has a cover on the horizon
122107karlieklossLL.jpg

1. Karlie Kloss (Elite)
"This young American's show roster may not be as impressive as some of her peers who we've reported on. However, I have her at number one as I truly believe she is the stand-alone star of the season. Her ethereal beauty and strength draw the best qualities of Kasia Struss, Irina Kulikova, and a host of others into one striking, gorgeous face. Karlie is breathtaking in the flesh and certainly her beauty will take to film extremely well. Soon we'll see proof of that, with an upcoming Teen Vogue cover by Patrick Demarchelier; Spring campaigns for Pringle by Steven Meisel and Nina Ricci by Mario Sorrenti; and Italian Vogue stories by both Steven Meisel and Mario Sorrenti. And the name—it just rolls off the tongue, which is always a mark of a legend in the making."

Karlie is cute but there are thousands of girls like her. She's good in teen vogue but she doesn't seem very versatile. Nothing special.

I think Karlie is versatile and a really specific face. I'm happy for her #1 spot and for her TV cover.

somehow there are no many -ovas in this list
tendencies are changing?

Masha is the only Eastern European girl

and since you're talking about tendency...two German models..

I said the same thing at first, but then I realized that she is going to grow up VERY beautifully. Her look will mature, trust me.

Adina is from Hungary
and Egle from Lithuania

Lithuania is Middle Europe and Hungary is in somewhere in the Middle too

from wiki:

Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuva), officially the Republic of Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuvos Respublika), is a country in northern Europe.[1] Situated along the south-eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, it shares borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the southeast, Poland, and the Russian exclave of the Kaliningrad Oblast to the southwest. Lithuania has been a member of NATO since the 29 March 2004 and of the European Union since 1 May that same year.

Hungary (Hungarian: Magyarország; IPA: [mɒɟɒrorsaːɡ]; listen (help·info)), officially in English the Republic of Hungary (Magyar Köztársaság listen (help·info), literally Magyar (Hungarian) Republic), is a landlocked country in the Carpathian Basin of Central Europe, bordered by Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. Its capital is Budapest. Hungary is an OECD, NATO, EU and Schengen member. The mother-tongue is Hungarian, part of the Finno-Ugric family, thus one of the few official languages of the European Union that is not of Indo-European origin.

The only girl out of these ten who is even remotely memorable and individual looking to me is Masha, and unfortunately it's because of her bulbous eyes. They all kind of run together in the mind, same face, same body, same hair, same lifeless walk.

As agencies really that hard up for models???
