Vanity Fair March 2009 : Barack Obama By Annie Leibovitz

I'm glad he's on the cover instead of another boring Hollywood Oscar nominees group shot. According to some entertainment show the actors will be featured on the inside where they belong. I mean really, don't you get tired of celebrities already? I don't even have to see to the portfolio of the Oscar noms to know that it's nothing but a bunch of glossy pictures of a group of actors looking overly serious like "We are serious thespians and we want Oscars."

I wish he wasn't so ugly in the look department. That's very shallow of me, I know, but they make Kate Moss look pretty in pictures, why not put some of that photoshop to make Obama look at least semi attractive.

Barack has not been on every cover in the western world, a la Kate Hudson. He has only been on the cover of newsmags, not fashion/lifestyle ones and I for one, have no issue with it. I think it would have made more sense for him to have been on the Jan issue, but whatevs.
The Hollywood issue will be inside the mag.

I like it & I'm looking forward to the issue.

IMO President should be added to the title of this thread.

omg, not another obama cover......

can someone please strap his PR people down, heheh.....
he's even on the cover of Men's Health........let's hope all these over exposure wouldn't burn out the honeymoon too early......:innocent:

I dont get how Obama is ugly or how Obama is irrelevant at VF. Seriously?

I am sure if there was a hollywood issue, it will be Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson, Anne Hathaway with Brad Pitt, Leonardo di Caprio, Matt Damon, George Clooney. I dont hate them, but how many times do we have to celebrate their greatness? Besides, the actors who really deserve to be put on a pedestal cant sell magazines.

What the...? He's probably the most attractive looking president we've ever had. I consider you are a typical Jonas brothers fan??

Can't agree more with that :flower:

As much as I think the Oscars contenders are some of the strongest in recent memory, there are greater things at hand this year. Vanity Fair can serve as either a distraction to what's going on or another reminder of what reality is, and I wouldn't mind if they chose either option (As we already have plenty of both). As long as they sustain content quality I cannot complain!

I'm pretty sure it's hard to tame your fame when you're the US president, PR people or not...

The man needs no photoshop at all imho -- truly an attractive president (Hence all the cover appearances already). Airbrushing has probably already been used for this cover, anyway :innocent:

I just saw on Entertainment Tonight that this is the Hollywood issue too. It's just not the cover.

We can all breathe now

yeah, what strange standards tfs has...

people are complaining though that hollywood issue must have hollywood stars on cover, and not some ugly dude who just happened to be the new president.

I can't help but think some of you must be a bit isolated from the real world ... the whole world is in deep economic sh*t, the guy on this cover is going to do his best to get us out, and you're all upset & clamoring for the Hollywood set that's on every other d*mn cover on the stand ... :innocent: Because of course what could be more important than the tradition of the March Vanity Fair being upheld  I take it you guys haven't lost your job (do you have one??) or your house ... or been asked to take a paycut ... I take it your retirement account (do you have one??) hasn't tanked ...

PS IMO Obama is hot ... being attractive is not the sum of your features. It is well known that people with perfectly regular features are boring, not attractive.

LOL, ooh, what an insult. I couldn't be a any less interested in Jonas brothers and I couldn't tell them apart even if my life depended on it.
But back on topic, lmao, at thinking he's the best looking president we've ever had. And an even bigger LMAO at thinking that being the best looking president says a lot about your looks. Barack has very unappealing features. Big ears, big nose and no chin. He may be the greatest president we ever have (time will tell), but the man is ugly.

Sure, he's not as sexy as Theodore Roosevelt, but he's not ugly by any means

now i'm wondering if michelle really will be on vogue...
would anna really do that...even though they are both condé nast publications?

I don't see why not ... Vogue has been full of Obama ecstasy since even before the election. And I would imagine ALT has been lobbying hard ...

(prepares self for media overexposure...)

:innocent:

oh wait...already happened.
hahahaha
The media has had a love affair with him from the get-go, and I cannot stand having someone shoved in my face day-in day-out. I am truly sick of him already. It's beyond overexposure at this stage.

I'd forgotten about Teddy, that well-known sex symbol :D I'd take Obama over any of the previous 44, bar none. And over anyone in Hollywood. Not for looks alone, but with character & personality in the mix.

So I take that all the people who are complaining that Obama is ugly/unattractive do not realize that we're in one of the worst economic recessions the US has ever seen, with families losing their retirement plans/jobs/homes/lives and finally here comes a person who can fix all that. And people are complaining about his appearance?
