Vapor S/S 08

I keep on thinking of this fall's Miu Miu!
I know that's the first thing I thought of too. I'd still kill for this cadigan....

I think this style could be a either hit-or-miss depending on the amount of sheerness and how the sheer material is used. I love it mixed with darker colours (black) in a more neogoth fashion.

I think it's groving on me

i love how it's not completely seethrough (for obvious reasons)... sheer is so lovely.

Love love:heart: this trend, there's a certain sensuality from it... I second that Richard Nicholl's interpretation is the strongest, there's a old school Helmut Lang quality to his pieces..some more detailed photos

^my new 2 fav takes on the trend... the Jil Sander dress is breath-taking, just like a wisp of cloud:heart::heart::heart:

Not sure how the mods feel about two threads devoted to transparency, perhaps the should be merged?

Dolce & Gabbana interpreted it in a surprisingly believeable way.

In the UK, we are just now getting the Project Runway

season in which the first task was to use whatever textiles the contestants could find in the apartments they had been set up in.

The person sent home the first week created a dress with layers and layers of sheer skirt under which you could see a bit of custom made underwear and she was criticized for the transparency of it.

Since I assume that this season actually happened some time ago, could it be that she was just a bit ahead of the catwalk trend probably just then starting to be born in the minds of designers?

well sheer happened for a couple of seasons, it's only the huge number of runways we're seeing it that makes it look like it's happening now. just think about how soon the designers work on their next collection...it's not like it popped out right now from nowhere..right?

^ agreed. I saw bits and pieces pop up in previous seasons and was lusting after the look greedily. Maybe I can actually find things in stores now.
