I really enjoyed the velvet at Giorgio Armani yesterday. There was black and red velvet, but I really responded to the green velvet, stunning

I wonder where this trend comes from. Velvet is usually associated with Medieval times, a time of stand-still and no social, economic or cultural growth. But it was also very prevelant in the 16th and 17th century, which were times of economic growth and cultural development. I sense a conflict there....sound familiar?

i feel like i associate velvet more with sort of medieval fairs, and cheap hippy-wear or "goth" sort of rock and roll wannabees

i kinda like velvet is huge trend..been loving it for a while. nyfw seems that was crazy about velvet. Even Halston had mini in velvet which I absolutely adored...and Sophie Theallet little boho dress was awesome

i was already liking velvet, but now i feel it's all a bit too much. there are certain velvet looks from the collections that i really love but it's so ubiquitous that i can't help feeling it's kind of overkill and i'm going to get very sick of it very fast.

I am in love with this trend! I actually bought a BCBG velvet turtleneck a few weeks ago. It was 40% off... and now apparently totally in style

I do think some of the pieces are a bit of a turn-off though, like the Jasmine di Milo ones...
