Versace F/W 10.11 Milan

A video is amazing! I wonder if it's the actual soundtrack, because someone mentioned Let's Get Physical being played? I thought this one went well. Strutastic!

not impressed at all :( some of the outfits look ill-fitting and it's just a bit blah to be honest :S

I'm surprised at how nineties the cuts are... The colours are interesting too, especially the first one with the metallic AND the blue AND the brown sleves. Hate to say, but I'm not a fan... The white outfits are great though!

Well it's not my favorite Versace collection, but honestly I was tired of the whole toned down Versace long ago. Last season, though I didn't like it and still don't, was at least very Versace in spirit. The same goes for this. It's not perfect, but at least it's honest.

I think the problem is that I'm looking at it and seeing what could have been. I wish she had taken it as far as she did with the menswear collection, because that was much stronger.

And the hair/makeup doesn't go with the collection at all.

The day wear is pretty awful but the collection picks up when the gowns start coming out..

I agree. Overall it is VERY hit or miss, but the majority of the evening wear is nice and the majority of the daywear (save the fabulous leather pants/jacket combos) is horrendous.

This is a let down for me :( I only like a few dresses at the end.
The material, colours and patchwork look cheap to me. Plus the thigh high slits are quite badly done, the dresses look as if they've been torn. :ninja:

I always try to find the positive side to the collections of Donatella, and so many times I've defended her posture and style in front of the crisis both financially and creatively, that the firm has been through.
Unfortunatelly, this new proposal is a disaster to me and I have nothing good to say about it.
I have no doubt that the trashy designs will be used by popstars, although that it's not gonna give it to Versace the prestige, sensuality, good taste and femininity that Donatella is seriously lacking of this days.
The model casting was very odd, just to mention the boring and dull teenage girls like Lindsey Wixson who looks nothing like what Versace is all about.
I don't think Donatella should leave Versace right now, not because she's good, no, because sadly there's no one to replace her, clearly I don't want another Ungaro or Valentino.

Donatella is fabulous when she is ready!

It wasn't that long ago that she and her team delivered up the beautiful S/S 2009 collection. That was the last collection IMO that Donatella really stepped it up!

I love the dresses with the metallic details, esp at the end. But otherwise it is lackluster... esp those jeans and the cast. Ugh, the jeans are so so tacky.

Love the colors, love the gowns, love the music and the catwalk.
But I have to admit, when I saw Natasha walking I thought I was watching a Gucci show.

On a whole, this collection is so unflattering and it looks really lazy. The casting only made it 10x worse. But that white cut-out gown Jac wore was stunning. A little trashy, but mostly stunning.

After looking at the whole collection, I like it even less than I initially thought. It just looks so 90s. And not in a good way. Most of the pieces look very cheap and uninspiring. This is the worst Versace collection in a loong time.

Well, the day wear doesn´t impressed me this time that much. Don´t like the material, Versace in not Missoni or D&G.
But i still like the evening wear, especially with the metallic details. It´s very sexy but still- after the last season it´s a step back.
No matter what, a great collection.

Lets be honest, this is hideous. The daywear looks were absolute trash and constituted a completely unorganized, over-thought, over-designed trashy mess. The evening looks towards the end were the only cohesive part of the show, and I fail to see how they plan to make money off it.

Donatella had a good run, starting Fall 2006, and she had some pretty impressive collections under her belt (Spring 2007, Spring 2009) but her last two collections were terrible. They reminded me of that dark period of Versace's history when she had some 'problems', and everything that came out on the runways was kistchy and badly designed.

Besides, I look to Versus by Christopher Kane for inspiration. He has a way of interpreting the Versace aesthetic, without making it too kistch and unflattering. Just like those Fall 2006-Spring 2009 Versace collections of Donatella's.

Feels very much like cheap Gucci. Donatella has been on a roll the last few collections and now she ruins it with this??? It feels plain and bland theres no energy in the clothes or makeup!!!
Why cant the gowns be more like Atelier Versace??? With some actual design and structure!
