Versace Uomo Ss 2005

I like how some of it is totally unwearable, and then it is followed by something that most men could pull off...it makes for a great show :woot:

It's totally disgusting and vulgar, as usual. I wasn't even going to click on that thread but I decided that I should be fair.

while i wouldn't say it's a "great show," i must say that to be fair some of the non-runway "looks" should be posted. what keeps versace menswear afloat are not only the outrageous clothes but the quietly provacative pieces that are cut sexier than most but not featuring the overexposed pattern, print, and logo most associate with versace.

Is that why so many people dismiss Versace as nothing but trash?...they do produce wearable and great clothes, but even I must admit that some of it is somewhat tacky and just blech

absolutely...when most people think of versace they really don't think of things like this (even though their suits to populate their stores):

I know someone who bought every single Versace silk shirt from the Couture line from 1993 to 2002.

But then again their silk shirts create a very nice contrast when worn with something sedate such as a black suit, etc.

Donatella Versace's vision for Versace is less Barqoue shall we say than Gianni's. She has a fixation for rock, and slight Gothic accents almost in the manner of Cavalli but more polished, glossed.

Note the current collections for women in which Pop Art self portraits are juxtaposed with the classic Baroque scrolls, and then neon colors.

I like that jacket.

As expected some of it is extremely tacky and unwearable but it’s not all bad. Most of the suits and some of the more “toned down” looks are okay, though in no way innovative.

i'd say that was a very good and accurate assessment of the difference btw gianni and donnatella... :flower:

which should mean that i like her stuff better...but somehow...it doesn't... :ninja: :innocent:

Hum ... well... I'll admit that I like the bags and the belts ... but it lacks ... nothing new under the sun ..though some of the colors ARE interesting (though somehow ..the color palette for menswear has SO broaden as per most designers!)

lets not forget, there are always 1 or 2 reasons a versace show is worth watching :innocent:
