I like how some of it is totally unwearable, and then it is followed by something that most men could pull off...it makes for a great show

It's totally disgusting and vulgar, as usual. I wasn't even going to click on that thread but I decided that I should be fair.

while i wouldn't say it's a "great show," i must say that to be fair some of the non-runway "looks" should be posted. what keeps versace menswear afloat are not only the outrageous clothes but the quietly provacative pieces that are cut sexier than most but not featuring the overexposed pattern, print, and logo most associate with versace.Originally posted by ebowleg@Jun 28th, 2004 - 9:14 am

Is that why so many people dismiss Versace as nothing but trash?...they do produce wearable and great clothes, but even I must admit that some of it is somewhat tacky and just blech

i'd say that was a very good and accurate assessment of the difference btw gianni and donnatella...Originally posted by Incroyable@Jun 28th, 2004 - 12:45 pm
Donatella Versace's vision for Versace is less Barqoue shall we say than Gianni's. She has a fixation for rock, and slight Gothic accents almost in the manner of Cavalli but more polished, glossed.
Note the current collections for women in which Pop Art self portraits are juxtaposed with the classic Baroque scrolls, and then neon colors.
