Does anyone know where I can buy a very large banana or what varieties of banana are particularly large?

I might just have to make do with a melon if I can't find a large enough banana but a banana would be best. Thanks. :flower:

Yeah, I know - I went to a banana platation in Kenya once...I just can't for the life of me remember what it's called either though!

The plantain or platano macho is a very large banana, but is usually eaten cooked if I remember correctly. :grrr:

That's the one! Thank you so much - if you were a multipurpose collapsible frisbee I'd marry you...

I don't want to eat the banana though...I only need the skin.

    I like the idea though.

My friend just got one of those new-fangled digital devices so once I obtain a plantain, freeze it, saw the top off, paint it with resin and then glue, drill holes in it and attach handles I'll take a photo :flower:
