imo topshop are such bad quality and fall apart so easy .. so i prefare too get things from h & m that are cheaper, more fashion forward and tend not to fall apart so easily .. but yeah you should give it a go
also if the adverage h & m customer doesnt know who they are thats good for us the customer as we wont need to fight for stuff like we did with stellas stuff.

Oh there was irony in the statement about Top Shop thus the

But I can't imagine me finding anything I like at H&M, even with the V&R, the image of shrunken clothes after one wash, is imprinted on my mind. B)

Thanks for the response.

Does anyone know when in november the will launch the clothes?????

Material girl confirmed new H and M model Thu Jun 8, 8:10 AM ET

US pop queen Madonna has been confirmed as the latest of a string of celebrities to model for Swedish low-cost fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H and M).
"We are extremely proud that Madonna wants to be in partnership with H and M," company spokeswoman Kristina Stenvinkel told AFP Thursday.
"This campaign encapsulates H and M's and Madonna's expression of diversity and personal style," Stenvinkel added.
Madonna is to pose for a poster campaign due to hit bill boards worldwide from August.
The company is to also clothe Madonna and 150 members of her crew in T-shirts, tops, hoods and jeans emblazened with "Madonna plus crew loves H and M". These designs will be made available in H and M stores.
Madonna's crew is also to be given free range to stock up on H and M products.
"Madonna and her crew will be able to select items from the H and M range at stores in London and New York," Stenvinkel said.
Stenvinkel refused to reveal how much the campaign was worth.
Previous H and M models have included superstars Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Anna Nicole Smith.
Last year, British supermodel Kate Moss was dropped from the group's ad campaign after allegations that she had taken cocaine.

MADONNA FOR H&M
spacer.gif
IT was true! Madonna is the latest big deal sign up for H&M. The Swedish high street retailer confirmed this morning that the world's most famous female singer, her dance troupe, band and tour crew will be dressed in its 2006 collection every time they leave the stage. While Madge herself has been dressed by Jean Paul Gaultier for her onstage performances of the Confessions tour, which began on May 21, even she'll be in H&M during down time. "Partnering up with H&M feels like a perfect fit," she said. "We'll all get to express ourselves in our own individual way. The dancers and I are excited to go shopping together." The contract will also involve an ad campaign featuring Madonna with her dancers as well as a specially designed Madonna tracksuit that will go on sale in mid-August. "This is a thrill for H&M," said Margareta van den Bosch, the company's head of design. "Aside from being great fans of Madonna's music and fashion sense, we admire her ability to always be ahead of the trends in everything she does. We look forward to seeing how her touring family translates H&M's seasonal trends into their own personal looks." (June 8 2006, PM)

Wow I wonder what her Madgesty is gonna do.... =\

But I am excited for V&R. I didn't like Stella's too much

Im shocked...It is no doubt in order to increase her hipness with the people who shop at H&M...

I know the advert is gonna be crazy-cool, if Madonna is art director...

The following is a great interview with the boys, from men.style.com

A Q&A with V&R

The Dutch design duo on Rufus, Tilda, and H&M

June 15, 2006—Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have been busy of late: working on a men's collection for H&M, launching a new fragrance, and—last but not least—designing the costumes for Rufus Wainwright's two-night Judy Garland extravaganza, which ends this evening at Carnegie Hall. Here, they talk about the inspirations behind the projects.

What drew you to Rufus?
Viktor: He's a genius. His lyrics are beautiful. He's a true artist. We're just great admirers of his, and we felt really stupid because we only discovered his music last year and we were like, "Oh, God. How did we miss this?"

What makes him a good match for your clothes?
Viktor: Well, to start with, the way he approaches his music. His music is rooted in tradition. He's classically trained, which speaks to us, and he uses this tradition and these traditional musical references and he completely makes it into his own thing. So that is inspiring.

Rolf: And his way of dressing is really unique. He mixes and matches everything, but everything is okay somehow, which is quite unique.

Do you have a favorite Rufus song?
Rolf: Right now it's the song he wrote for the perfume. We told him the whole story about the perfume and what it meant to us, and he just did his own thing with it.

Other than Rufus, who is the target consumer for your new fragrance?
Rolf: We don't really address a certain style of men or women. We always say we address a certain "mindstyle."

Viktor: It's not meant to be about age or a certain aesthetic or body type.

Rolf: It's really just for people with a positive outlook on life, a positive viewpoint. That type of person. We really like people like Tilda Swinton or Rufus Wainwright. It's people who really set their own rules—independent, creative spirits.

Your designs are normally ironic and playful—not exactly mass-market. How do you translate that for the H&M audience?
Viktor: Well, it's going to be a project done specially for H&M, bearing in mind that it's very fashionable in that it's very short. It's sort of a celebration of that.... We see ourselves as storytellers, and it's great to do that with a larger audience.

This is the first full designer men's collection for H&M. Do you think men will embrace it as strongly as women did the Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney collections?
Viktor: Oh, yeah. I think so, because, especially nowadays, there is such a big demand for good men's fashion. Guys are as fashion-oriented as women nowadays.

What's your next collaboration? Would you like to work in film?
Viktor: Sure.

In what capacity?
Rolf: As actors [laughs].

so wait, are they not gonna do any womens designs for h&m??

^No, I think they are.

I think the interview was referring to the fact that no one before them did mens, just womens.

karl lagerfeld had mens stuff too.. but thats good news :)

Oh did he?

Did he do a full line, or just a few pieces?

The article mentions a full line, so maybe that's the difference. Who knows?!

I just can't wait to see what they do.:woot:

he had a good amount of guys pieces, sweaters, shirts, ties, perfume, jewellery, blazers, pants... of what i saw.. but i guess it was not a full line then. i think it was like 60% women, 40% mens..at least in my store

Hmm..sounds like quite a bit though.

I missed all that sadly.

But I don't plan on missing out on the V&R stuff.

Miss6o, the H&M release says they're gonna do a full collection for both men and women:
"Viktor & Rolf [...] will design a collection of women's and men's wear to be produced and distributed by H&M."

I just had a look at H&M's autumn clothes (you can see them in the press releases section) and apart from a few exceptions they seem pretty dull and depressing. I really hope V&R will not try to lower their level too much thinking of H&M's mass customers...

I discovered H&M when I was unemployed. I always had the feeling I was literally flushing my money down the toilet (little as it was). I stopped buying clothes altogether and learned to appreciate the good quality old stuff in my wardrobe. What a crap shop (excuse the expression!).

h&m clothes are ok quality for the price that they are. their circles are so fast (they have like 10 seasons in one year) that the clothes arent even meant to be worn for a long time...this is their whole philosophy. there is more quality in these designer invasions though (also higher price).. my lagerfeld and stella stuff are still in good condition. :)
i cant wait to see how the viktor&rolf collections look!

Viktor & Rolfe for H&M

Does anyone know when their collection is due in stores? I can't wait to see what they come up with- and I hope that this time H&M has a bit more stock than when Stella McCartney designed for them! I heard it was utter chaos.
