Viktor & Rolf for H&M

realitysucks said:
who is designing for viktor & rolf if obviously themself are not doing it? i heard some belgian? and if so, wtf are viktor & rolf doing/designing for except from the temporary hm collection?

sorry if it have been up, havent followed this thread

Well, I assume that they will do at least some of the "designing", but otherwise they'll probably give their assistants a direction to go on. It wouldn't be a smart business move to say someone else would be designing it for them. And Viktor & Rolf are still working on their own brand....

that is what i hope

I really hope it turns out to be better than Stella's designs..
sounds so hopefull .. and i think the collection Stella did was terrible so ..Viktor&Rolf would be better I am sure

the older woman who shops at h&m has no interest whatsoever in trends, or good fashion:rolleyes:

You make it sound like you think it isn't going to sell?
I don't know what kind of demographic H&M attracts in Canada, but I know I'll see 20-40 yearold women claws out, doing everything exept for actually hitting eachother to get the clothes at my local H&M. The caos at the biggest store in Stockholm will probably once again make the evening news - just like the previous two designer collaboration releases.

Also: there are plenty of stylish women who aren't rich out there.

there is a big difference between 20 and 40.
20-30..sure, they're going the line even if they don't know who v&r are. they'll do their research.

35-40? i'm telling you...in this demographic they buy basics and casual pants.

anyways..i'm slowly getting excited for this...i have a feeling viktor and rolf aren't going to do anything outrageous.
seems to me though that by this time last year, stella was pretty hyped. at this point nobody even knows about the collaboration.

i mean the label viktor & rolf, what are they doing if they are not the chief designer? paradoxical huh? :)

yah ofc they would be the designer for the H&M collection!

It seems I've finally lucked out: My pending trek "oop north" to the Twin Cities will probably occur in the earlier part of November. Which would seem to coincide perfectly with the line's expected release :woot: The nearest H&M location will be at the Mall of America, which I normally have minimal interest in visiting - but hey...

My hopes for a likeable collection were furthered by a snippet in this month's W:

And over at H&M, Viktor & Rolf will debut its take on elegant economy in November. Known for eccentric clothes like upside-down gowns and dresses trimmed with bells, the Dutch design duo promises to deliver something truly unique. "We want this project to be special, not just an upside-down collection in cheaper fabrics," Rolf Snoeren told WWD. If the Swedish chain's previous designer collaborations are any indication, fans will line up hours before the doors open in hopes of scoring first dibs. Anyone planning to camp out overnight might want to consider wearing one of Viktor & Rolf's famous quilted gowns--inspired by comforters, they come with pillows attached.
I'm a little disheartened though, by the fact that I've been known to sleep past noon...

I'm really, really looking forward to this. If everything turnes out as I hope - the collection will be like F/W 06/07! I WILL skip school for this!

I am so ready for this. I'm also looking forward to it. Hopefully I will enjoy the collection I'm one of the few seemingly who quite liked the Stella McCartney range. This should at the very least be interesting. I know from my experience last year that I'll have be getting up pretty damn early and I'll have to have my game face on. I hope they do something as ladylike as their F/W collection.

I'm expecting a few gimmicky pieces delivered in pure V&R style, but otherwise I'm looking forward to some well styled and fairly classic clothes. V&R is consistently good, and offered at H&M prices, what's not to like?

i'm sooooooooo excited now!
and good. because i wasn't looking forward to it at all...

i hope hope hope the do a press preview shopping event!!!...:bounce:...
they did it for karl but not for stella...

:ermm:...

there are a couple of things that i would really like to get my hands on - but i don't want to battle those ridiculous crowds...

pastry- maybe you can pull some pieces for me and ship them??...
:innocent:...

^ i could actually arrange that very well softie!

i mean...the stuff comes in a week or so before, right..
and they really don't mind it the employees buy if first at full price..our staff discount only works TWO DAYS AFTER the collection hits the stores.
so i know i won't be getting my hands on any of it. i'm pretty much the epitome of a poor student now that i have to pay rent.

*anyway...i hinted to my manager that ther is a wedding dress, and he said that he preview the collection and didn't see one..
SO, is it actually wedding-like, or just VERY VERY frou frou?

For those that have previewed it, is there any hope I'll be able to get a pair of slim black trousers or a nice winter coat?

I guess I really am going to San Fran in november. I don't want to be in a crazy mosh pit of rabid shoppers on my birthday trip though or sitting out on haight street with my camping chair

We should do a tfser thing on this day. Save each others spots and whatnot and team up against the really crazy people who just grab the whole rack for them to sell on ebay before you even get a look at a piece.

i can't confirm on either..but i am positive they are going to produce some beautiful coats.

>>there are some samples i've been told about:
- a ruffled army green dress with pink accents (sounds kind of ick..)
- a black dress with a chain around it..
- blouses with v&r's signature ribbon details..

-for guys there is a t-shirt that spells out "love" in arrows
-a pair of brown(?) coruduroys with cross stitching all over (also kinda ick..)
- an apparently beautiful trench coat
- skinny jeans (grey and distressed)
- trousers
-white shirt, etc..

*anyways..the showroom here didn't get ALL the samples yet..

Oooooooh! I've been looking for a coat. (Kind of odd in close to 100 degree weather, but I like planning ahead.)

What are the usual prices at H&M for outerwear?
