This is not a magazine cover, sorry! Looks like something plucked off a lifestyle influencer's IG feed.
Even the makeup which actually looks interesting is almost washed out in this shot.
I'm just going to go there. Happy for Indira scoring her first Vogue cover, but I find the casting so random. Indira is to my knowledge the 3rd black person to front the cover of Vogue China in its 16 year run, after Naomi (OG) and Imaan (MG). This cover once again shows how out of touch Anna is with what this magazine is about. Vogue China is all about prestige. The best models, best photographers, best brands...because they have to sell to a wide audience. So with that in mind, why not Adut or (though I may not care for her) Anok, Sacha, Precious, who are very famous fashion models which Vogue China readers will likely see in campaigns in the magazine? Surely that would give Vogue China readers a sort of scope of the now-models beyond their little bubble? I doubt they will respond well to this cover especially when they find out she never even appeared on a Vogue cover before or the very limited amount of campaigns she has booked.
Anyway, I suspect it won't even be an OG cover because I see Fernanda Ly's name underneath hers as well.
