There are no original fashion editorial(s) inside the issue: A few photographs of model Lara Stone in a studio setting in front of the magazine and a long accessories editorial without models (filler work). Obviously, there is the Miley Cyrus cover story by Mario Sorrenti and the Vogue World: Hollywood fashion editorial reprint by Ethan James Green. A bit disappointing issue.

A better flow than the last issue, along with a distinctly Americana/California theme (I suppose this is French Vogue's take on Vogue World: Hollywood). A great nude shot in the otherwise weak Miley editorial. Now I'm excited again to see if CTJ brings back the guest-edited issues that she said were her favourite.

The on-location shots are stronger than the in-studio ones. Shame there aren't more of the former. It’s conjuring Showgirls’ Nomi trashiness and Madonna’s Blond Ambition era brashness. The last shot is spectacularly brash and crass— like an image from Madonna’s SEX book. I like it.

I was wondering why I haven't been more enthused about the return of Lara Stone - after all, we're crying out for models who can actually model, with a combination of experience and natural presence on the page.

She has the same expression in every shot. And in nearly every shoot.

If this was a different type of forum, there'd be people going NOBODY'S LOOKING AT HER FACE!! but you'd like to think of Lara being seen - by the fashion world - as more than a pair of t*ts.
