Vogue India December 2007

I'm actually very happy with this issue as well. Will get it mainly for the editorial that are pretty much artistic and inspiring. No duplicated and reprints (nothing I've seen before) and photography is very impressive in total. The outfolded cover is much better though!

Delfine  :buzz:
I was just wandering around her 3-page thread yesterday remembering the good old days. she's fantastic. I don't expect her to do a comeback but it's so good to see her landing on something big after such a long hiatus.

True to Form is beautiful.. the staff still has a lot of work to do in art direction, styling, photography.. everything really, but the story, despite not being executed at its entirity, is lovely both theorically and in result.. I think they have good, above-average intentions and I'm excited to see what they'll do next and how they will progress.. they're learning quickly for such a short time, I'm sure they'll be delivering some outstanding imagery in a few years, if not months, that can even challenge the ones in Vogue Italia or Nippon.

^There is a David Sims reprint on Paris Haute Couture with an accompanying article by Sally Singer. One of the Beauty editorials is a reprint as well. but looks great!

and yeah, the outfolded cover looks better than the main cover :-)

I feel the cover fails mainly because it is off balance. For example there are way too many girls on the cover and they are all standing.

IMO they should have had the girl with the shortest dress (the one covering the U in Vogue), infront of the girl in the white dress, would have broken up the monotony of the floor length dresses...or atleast they could have put one sitting down, so it matches the rest of the gatefold.

Even better they could have just had the model (Sheetal Mallar) in center on the cover alone... however styled her hair differently so it didn't look too much like Nov's with
Deepika Padukone.

I agree about the Pink lettering...it is pretty bad, I think they should have used an icier looking colour, blue probably would have looked better.

Well that is just my 2 cents.

ooh. i actually quite like the eds!
i think the outfolded cover is MUCH better than the front cover D: but still extremely boring...

^Thanks for that! It looks great. I don't get why the styling is different for the three sections, there is no sense of unity in the group shot, but overall I like it.

I still can't get over the fact that Camilla and Delfine are there as well, so random, did they have some kind of deal with Ford or something?

I think this issue is a little on the slender side but it had some nice moments. Emina's beauty edit was the standout for me.

This is a bit late, however... does anyone have any information about acquiring a copy of the December '07 issue? I run a site on Yasmin Le Bon and would love to have the pages of her, if not the entire magazine.

Please let me know if you can help! :flower:

^Try searching "Vogue India" on eBay -- there are still a few December issues left in auction :flower: (The seller, though international, is reliable ^_^)

Actually here in Seattle I went to the newsstand at Pike Place Market and they had it today.

I like the cover! So many Indian beauties which needs to be recognised. The two whites are so random though.
