Vogue India December 2008 : Katrina Kaif

I have to admit I'm not automatically familiar with her work but she's a very beautiful woman. I bought her last cover wherein she was styled by JPG and she truly looked stunning on the front. I initially thought she was a new model ^_^ This cover isn't AS nice but I think that it's something different - night covers are rare and this turned out quite pretty. I like that Vogue India isn't just doing a bunch of reprints (though they use some of course) and that they are really trying to focus on things specific to the region and Indian culture. This looks and feels so much more relevant than the Victoria Beckham cover. That said I really don't know Miss Kaif's work so I don't know how she is viewed overall (perhaps someone could shed some light for me) but as it stands I see her as a much better choice.

Still waiting for that Ujjwala cover though!!!

^She's half Kashmiri and half British...used to be a model, but has now been in bollywood for a few years. She gets alot of criticism because in her first few movies her voice was dubbed as she couldn't speak hindi. However she now dubs her own lines...Generally she's had huge commercial success, especially last year as well as this year with 'Namaste London', 'Singh is Kinng' etc

She is very popular, but at the same time gets alot of flak because she's an NRI and is going out with Aishwarya Rai's ex, Salman Khan.

(oh and she has a thread over in the star style section  )

She looks amazing in #15. I vaguely remember seeing her in Namaste London, so I can't really comment on her acting, but she's just so eloquent in interviews. She carries herself so well.

Cover was photographed by Jason Bell.
