So many people commented on the editorial in this issue that I thought it should be posted in its entirely.

^really... I thought it was supposed to be Sienna Miller

   I LOVE this spread! It pokes fun at all the celebs - I wish more magazines (US Vogue!) would take note and do stuff like this, creative and playful...

wow, i love it. such a brand new idea. steven meisel is so innovative and talented. beautiful editorial !

Thanks for posting:flower: Whats with the girl and the thong hanging out:shock: ...it makes Paris Hiltons thongs look like bloomers:p

This is EASILY the most amusing thing I've ever seen. I might have to order this issue. I do have to say though, that I WISH our celebrities dressed as well as half these fakes. Poor Pamela...

It's so funny, I love it. Especially the picture of Hannelore smoking with the baby.

lol it's such a hilarious, brilliant idea - and it's dead on, lol, I love Miesel  :flower:

meisel satirizes bonnie fuller r/o:

meisel's italian vogue story is completely inspired by bonnie fuller's star magazine. page six with the proof....:

""EMBATTLED American Media Inc. editorial director Bonnie Fuller has her detractors. But she has a huge fan in fashion photographer Steven Meisel. The shutterbug recently sent her a copy of January's Italian Vogue, in which Meisel pays tribute to Fuller. An extensive photo essay titled "Hollywood" mimics the layouts of paparazzi photos that Fuller runs each week in Star showing stars eating, smoking, grocery-shopping and talking on their cellphones. Attached to the glossy rag was a cheery note reading, "Thought you might enjoy! Steven.""

[page 6 , feb 7, 2005]

bonnie fuller has edited cosmo, glamour & marie claire. bonnie has improved the star tremendously from writing to art direction to photos & legibility. so much so that italian vogue now pays tribute to its very gossip media style.

Steven Meisel is a genius, I actually had to do a double take before I realized it was a fashion spread. It's such an obvious idea and yet no one has had it before. Bravo to Meisel and Vogue Italia for this one.

it actually has been done a few times before -- off the top of my head i remember one editorial with eva herzigova and greg payne that appeared in paris vogue and vogue nippon. i think the photographer was nathaniel goldberg. also, von unwerth was heavily into it around late '02 - she shot like 3 or 4 paparazzi-esque edits for italian and l'uomo vogue.

i think meisel is more imitative than innovative, but at least the production quality is always incredible.

Bahaha, that is brilliant!

Thanks for sharing that information, Gogopilgrim. :flower:

That editorial is amazing! :woot: I want to have this issue... :D

Thanx NouvelleVague :flower:

I actually (at first) thought this was Star magazine! Then I started to realize they weren't North American stars and must be European. Then I noticed Liya Kebede, Amber Valetta, and Caroline Trentini. It still took me a while after this to realize the concept
