Vogue Italia June 2011 : Candice Huffine, Tara-Lynn & Robyn Lawley by Steven Meisel

That is beautiful. I for one don't appreciate black and white photography as I've said many times but I can't help but be stunned by this editorial. And the nudity is not too vulgar like Playboy/FHM.

ITA, it's beautiful:heart:

The kind of editorial that I've been wanting to see from VI and Meisel. Beautiful photographs of beautiful women who aren't afraid to flaunt their full bodies. Sensuality at its finest I must say. Although the setting reminds me of Linda Evangelista's The Duchess editorial from the June 2008 issue. ^_^

They look fantastic! Love the photography and the styling. Well done!

In terms of overall mood, this is the sort of editorial that I've wanted to see in Vogue Italia for some time. However, despite my absolute love for the beauty styling, I am slightly tired of the way that plus-sized models are portrayed as being sensual - it seems one-dimensional to me, as if the only thing that styling teams imagine will fit them are bras from the big girls' shop.

That's not to say they shouldn't do nudity or tackle sexual themes, but I'd rather see them in a range of stories, and I'm not seeing that in most fashion magazines. So this editorial might have superb production values, but it's not really going beyond the imposed limitations that such models already work within. For them to appear in Vogue Italia is certainly an event, but the story itself doesn't break any new ground for me, no matter how much it seduces me.

so beautiful.....and its so amazing that meisel shows how beautiful big girls are!!!

Does anyone else see the Helmut Newton similarities in the Meisel ed?

Thank goodness I hit refresh because you saved me the effort of having to compose my thoughts, although I think that you are more generous in your like of the styling.

Even though I am not in love with every aspect of the ed, and I will comment on that shortly, I feel very positive about and complimentary of the statement that Vogue Italia is making by doing the cover and ed. The bottom line is that Meisel and Vogue Italia do have influence in the industry and after the all black issue of Vogue Italia there was an uptick in the use of black models and something similar may happen here. Also Vogue Italia has the Vogue Curvy site and Franca Sozzani has been speaking out about body image issues, so kudos to her for putting her money where her mouth is and here's hoping that this is an opening salvo to there being more diversity in the industry on this front, although hopefully in a less cliched way.

I just wish they used Tara more for the edit. Her boobs are magnificent and she is just perfect. I love her from head to toes!

Pasta talk ^_^

RObYN: Ha-ha, that pasta smelt beyond good! I actually wanted to eat it or nose dive into it, I was so hungry! I tried but it was too messy and I didn't want to ruin my makeup.
You know I think the message was we do love and appreciate food and that does not make us lesser of a person.

glad to see JAMIE BOCHERT's back, but in a curvy issue? sounds a little ironic

It's so weird that Edward styled this...isn't he meant to be exclusive to W now?

It's a beautiful editorial although the aesthetic vision isn't so far removed from Toccara's editorial in the black issue (also styled by Enninful) save for the location.

This will be Edward's last Vogue Italia cover shoot. Beautiful finale to an impressive run at the magazine.
