Vogue Italia October 2006 : Nicole Richie by Steven Meisel

I think that it's a really editorial. I'm sorry, but it'd probably look the same even without Miesel.... It reminds me of the "fashion" pages of a tabloid.

I hope the cover is better though.

Naomi looks so good, I wish the cover had gone to her... and I never thought I'd be saying that in 2006.

Is that editorial and featured in the mag as a main editorial by Meisel? That's embarrassing and disappointing.

Meisel did Hollywood best last year with the paparazzi influenced shoot.

Come on you're kidding right? That's the idea. It's not like Meisel thinks Kathy Griffin or K-Fed are style icons. It's IRONIC. I despair, I really do.

I really want to see the cover, I adore Nicole.

The COVER!

so great!!! Hilarious!! I love it.

 :mohawk:

I like the idea of it, but not the execution.

It's a bit too boring and I feel the irony isn't strong enough.

ok now that I know the thing is red carpet (je suis carpet) I apreciate it more....
It reminds me of the "fashion" pages of a tabloid.
I think this is the idea!!! :innocent: (like when he shooted this Paparazzi Jan 2005 Vogue italia editorial...it looked like it was tabloids candids!)
I'm gonna watch it once again...but I like the cover it seems ok!
do you think Paris & Nicole (o Nicole & Paris) were on the same day on the set?!
I love Carmen Electra wearing Balenciaga this is very funny!
but i must say that i don't know most of these people!!!:(
who is Ryan Seacrest? Mandy Moore (I think I know her name...)? Lance Bass? Gabriel Aubry? Angie Marmon? Kevin Zeger? who are those people????

Meisel must really love reading the tabloids with "Young Hollywood" and this ed now. Kathy Griffin is funny but he needed to include Bai Ling just to make take it over the top.

wow. i love it and i loathe it. i really hate nicole richie, i wish he put another one of them on the cover.

the kfed pictures just crack me up. i think they redeem the whole thing

ryan seacrest is a host on american idol, has a radio show and is on the e network...
mandy moore is a singer/actress, has been on the cover of teen vogue...
gabriel aubry is a model (appeared in s/s versace ads with halle berry)...
lance bass was in n'sync...
angie harmon is an actress, was on law & order...

i think the idea is GENIUS...
i mean, these are all b-list celebs really, and aren't really famous for doing much, so it's perfect that they would be on the red carpet...
i also love the fact that nicole is on the cover and paris is inside...

i do have to say that amber valletta and carolyn murphy look gorgeous...
but they are models...they know how to work it...:P

I love Steven Meisel's work, and I think he is the best fashion photographer out there and has been for a long time, but this story doesn't even qualify as an editorial. Regardless of what some others have said, there is NO irony evident in those photos. He has Amber Valletta is there. What's ironic about that? And there's nothing in the way that he shot Amber that is any different from the way he shot the horrible b-list celebrities. Federline is the only one who makes light of this story at all with his goofy expressions.
Steven is the best, hands down, but this one is just a mess. Compare it to last month's story... the difference in quality and concept is massive. He could shoot this with his eyes closed.

Well, I would have been more impressed if he'd used some of the newer upncoming models instead of Carolyn and Amber. That would have been an interesting experiment.

it`s not funny
everyone hates terry richardson for his trashy "unprof " works but this is simply terrible i don`t have any words i`m feeling like i fliped through HEllo magazine
