Vogue Korea December 2022 : Anja Rubik by Peter Ash Lee

Pretty bad from cover to editorial. Especially after seeing Marie Claire China, this feels very amateur. It's always HIT or MISS with Vogue Korea truth be told. Sad, they have lots of potential. Their cover stories back in 2008 were amazing.

The least I can say is I'm disappointed. The two covers were nice enough to let me hope for a decent editorial but it's not exactly what we got. We almost never see her face...

One of the worst Anja Rubik's work (if not THE worst) to date! Her "selfies" for Zara are a true masterpieces compared to this.

At first glance I immediately thought of her Zara campaigns. Quite similar. I agree, those are much better

I don't mind the layout, I don't know why I am biased towards their Art Direction.

So bland and dry. I was excited to finally see Anja on the cover of Vogue this year, and the end result is honestly disappointing.

I still have hopes that the other editorials would save this issue.

But yes, I'm also drawn into their art direction. Korea and Portugal have
the best layouts inside compared to the other Vogue editions in my opinion.

Thanks for posting these! I’m biased as I think she is a great model but I would say these are far from her worst work! Would definitely buy this if it wasn’t so expensive in Conde Nast worldwide news!

Its very good! Some pages have really thick glossy pages, but overall its a thin but really good quality paper

I must be the only one that thinks this is fine. While the photographer may take unconventional shots. I see nothing here that really makes it all bad. Anja is performing as always and I don't find the photography that bad. Its just kind of bland. I think if all the shots were not shot in a studio environment it would be far more lauded.

Got this issue earlier this week. It's their thickest issue this year with 436 pages and 17 editorials. While there are weak editorials like Anja's, Chloe Oh's "Escape", Joan Pak's "Prenez La Lumiere", Mei's "The Show Must Go On", and "Revolution" are sublime. I like the dark theatrics that this issue has which I was expecting from their October issue.

It also includes a collection of Steven Klein's photographs with Madonna. The Vogue Runway magazine is not included in this issue, but it's sold separately in a higher price.
