Vogue Mexico & Latin America April 2019 : Paloma Elsesser & Litza Veloz

Showing overweight models is not a sign of tolerance or acceptance or progress and it is not an example of being healthy for anybody and from just a basic beauty point wise (if we take body standards aside) Paloma is not an attractive model. And for Kourtney´s covers lol yeah I prefer not to say anything else.
I didn’t want to be the first to say this, but I’ll definitely co-sign! I’m all for inclusivity and diversity, but shoving this down our throats is not welcomed. Especially the nude shoots of plus size models, it almost seems like a fetish and is totally distasteful in my opinion.

Latin America won yet again again, lol. Great contrast with the gold and that hello with the black look.

Karla Martinez is doing a great job picking her models and celebs. Great for her!!

Nice to see someone Venezuelan on the Latinoamerican cover, considering the situation in the country. Feels like this is them showing support to the Venezuelan nation.

Actually, this magazine is supporting latin american countries and designers, the 20th anniversary celebration was in Peru. In the 'Talamas Era', L.A. was meaning of 'Los Angeles' and not 'Latin America'

The "Body Positive" bores me to death now... and that's a lazy styling + makeup on Paloma.

Paloma´s cover is awful: expression, body pose, the clothes don´t look well etc. I don´t get this new trend (clearly) the fashion world has had for the last couple of years with this pursue of putting curvy models wherever they can just to attract new consumers. Neither being anorexic or overweight should be considered ``good´´ first of all.

I want to see athletic models or people in normal healthy shape like Hilary Rhoda or Heidi Klum or Cindy Crawford or people like that who are a US size 4 or 6 but they are not a size 0 or a size 16. But I don´t like how back in the days it was considered GREAT to have anorexic looking models who looked super ill and now it´s the complete opposite just because: `` it´s the diversity decade ´´ and everything and anything goes lol (having Hailey on the cover of US Vogue says how low the bar is nowadays anyhow), sorry: not for me.
The thing is, Magazines now have to appeal to new markets such as the millenials, they are the focus of all things business now and they seem to like relatable people put on the pedestal, that is why Paloma Elsesser is a thing, overweight and all. We as society need to accept the fact that bodies come in all shapes and form and yes it is unhealthy if you are either extremely thin or extremely fat, but Paloma is in no way obese or looks unhealthy, that's very uncalled for on your part. Finally, models like Cindy or Heidi are not the norm anymore, this social construct of aiming to have a body like that because it is "normal" or "healthy" is truly a thing that needs to stay in the past, we are humans with imperfections afterall.

Okay I’m not Paloma’s fan by any means but calling her unhealthy is a ludicrous. My first thought when I saw the cover somehow wasn’t to automatically start worrying about her health problems caused by her morid obesity, but it’s so thoughtful of you two!!

Sorry but this bothers me to the core, how is this shoving it down your throat when there are countless fashion imagery showing skinny and/or fit young girls and boys, I get it you don't find it appealing or tasteful but they are a part of the fashion industry with a big market on their hands, it is delusional to never expect fashion to appreciate the beauty of naked shapes other than the one I described to you a few sentences before.

There is a lot that still needs some work to do, before we, as fashion people, truly embrace diversity in all forms.

It's ridiculous! She may not have a 'normal' BMI but she doesn't look unhealthy at all.

Sorry for the double post.

I’d like to know where in my post I called her unhealthy? GOFMD. You have your opinion right? Let me have mine.

And that’s simply all I was stating, it’s not appealing to me. Fashion is shoving them down our throats, we’ve seen her and Ashley everywhere, like being plus size is something to aspire to be- it’s not. It’s not delusional to not expect fashion to embrace this, because it’s never been in fashion. It’s not my cup of tea and clearly I’m not alone with that opinion. If my opinion bothers you to your core, you’d never make it in politics lol

This is ridiculous. You guys jump on threads as soon as a cover is released and spam it with “ugly,” “boring,” and all kinds of other insults to some of my favorite models and photographers and I never comment on things bashing people for their opinions, I simply state mine. Some of you really need to grow up and stop contradicting yourselves when something that appeases you is released, everything isn’t for everybody obviously. I’m not here to change your opinion and you’re definitely not going to change mine, so the debates on someone’s opinion is really juvenile and a waste of time.
