I like this editorial but it's a bit too David Sims/ US Vogue esque for me

I quite like the cover. It's simple and straightforward and to the point although I would have preferred to see Ymre as an OG cover. As for the eds, I'm not that impressed but I like Bette's.

happy for these girls.... and great cover!

I was not impressed with the cover either, it's Vogue or it's not.

But it's a first issue, we should give them a chance !

Kinda weird this.

I am now subcribe for the dutch vogue. They said on there website that we will have the special edition. It turns out that we will have the normal one. Today you could get the issue at a special store with a box ( a nice box ). Even that, we will not get it.. kinda disappointed

I also expected that the first subscribers would get the special edition with box..

I think there are two quotes in this magazine that are quite problematic regarding the overall point and possible future of Vogue Netherlands. Raissa Verhaeghe, general manager at Raf Simons says about Dutch design: "Sorry, don't have anything Dutch in my closet." And Inez & Vinoodh say in an interview: "The smartest thing we ever did was leave The Netherlands." Both are pretty awkward quotes for a first issue. I really hope they attract more international names or at least insert more international allure into the magazine.

^ I agree. It all feels so..Dutch.. and not in a good way..
Many people buy French, Italian or Japanese Vogue even though they don't understand a word of french, italian or japanese. I don't see that happening with Dutch Vogue. At least not this issue. They need to step it up and be more international. Right now, this doesn't feel like Vogue to me.

I agree. I think this issue if for Dutch people very nice, our glamour and Elle covers are like that and I believe they sale pretty well.

Maybe they should do both? For the Dutch a cover like (just a bit Elle) this and international a real vogue cover (like vp or something?).

I think the ed about Amsterdam is pretty nice. Nice choice of models.

I dont think its a bad first issue at all, I like the main edit, the styling is fun and playful, the domantrix shot is the only one I could do w/out and I like Bettes, has great energy:flower:

the Dutch stereotype/Amsterdam editorial seems like something out of
a ... top model city trip shoot, i'm sorry but i find it really forced and cheap. There is some good styling in there and the models are great, but it's not close to being "Vogue level". It's all trying a bit too hard, but i didn't expect much more from this editorial staff. Who knows how this will evolve though, i'm hoping they'll prove me wrong and there will be some nice surprises in store. So far i'm underwhelmed though.

LOL now that you mention it, the pics with the bikes and the herring are very Next Top Model!
Actually the only one that are kind of Vogue are the Viktor and Rolf on the canal and the Prada on the boat..

I get that high fashion like Vogue Paris doesn't sell here which is why I was surprised to hear that there was going to be a Dutch Vogue. This does sell. But is it Vogue? No.

I adore the Amsterdam ed. Contrary to the cover, it is amazing!

And I really don't like the ironic text on tFS Buzz..Kinda mocking to Amsterdam, Dutch Vogue and Dutch people themselves. Or maybe if it was shot in New York or Paris, the article writer would be venerating the pictures...Just a thought

I just bought this issue and I have to say I kinda like this issue! I love the main editorial and the editorial that feautures Kori Richardson and I loved reading the article on Inez and Vinoodh. But the whole magazine kinda reminds me of Dutch ELLE and some things are a bit boring but it's the first issue so I hope it changes :)

Vogue NL has a very big matter how they choose the next cover girls... Too many great Dutch models're waiting!
