Paris is scorching hot right now and the stylists want us to wear all these layers? RIP fashion styling.

I never thought I'd look at an issue of Vogue Paris and see the places I go at the weekend when I'm bored and can't think of what else to do.

That's how bad this issue is. And they haven't even made the landscape seem good.

Why are people surprised or questioning that the August issue is showcasing fall/winter clothes???

Thanks for posting, Zorka!

So underwhelming, but I honestly didn't had any grand expectations! I'll probably be in the minority in saying this because the fanaticism for Iselin on here is unremitting, but her posing is really bad with that cover edit. I'm assuming they've probably shot on location somewhere, but once again the production value doesn't even come through. It may have at least saved the monotonous Marant-esque proportions which Emmanuelle Alt seem so fond of.
Speaking of production value, at least the stunning Northern Irish landscape distracts from Alasdair's Love-lite reject. Would've loved to see more shots on the Giant's Causeway. And once again Adwoa is absolutely incapable of emoting beyond deadpan expressions with her solo shots. Worse than Kendall Jenner! Her hype is mystifying, and it's ridiculous that someone like her is being rewarded with so much. At least the slouchy tomboy styling worked for her.
I'm oddly enough impressed with the Teller edit. What a breath of fresh air, at least visually, even with the touch of Self Service meets POP. Styling, setting, and colours..... everything looks fresh for VP. Until I saw the last shot,. Of course he had to inject himself in the story. Maybe Die Zeit can run yet another rant bemoaning the rise of 'Egoismus' in men? Off topic, or perhaps on, the art community's love affair with fashion must've stalled at some point because they've only just caught up with Teller's December/January shoot for VP. Accusing him of blatantly copying an another artist without crediting her. I'm assuming the reason why it's such a brouhaha is because of the undertones (the artist being female and African American, and would probably never be considered to shoot a VP cover etc.)

The Woroniecka edit aside, everything else looks like it was created by one stylist. The type of staple looks we've been seeing in this magazine for years regardless of the way fashion went. Even Didry stayed true to form in her role as Alt's lady-in-waiting with that uneventful Fran Summers edit.

At least she toned down her 80's madness with the content this month. But I expect it will be back to business for September.

What a horrendous cover and waste of a great model.

The main story looks like a Patagonia/Caterpillar catalogue.

Why pay designer prices to look like you’re sporting utilitarian gear doing field work???

Still, Iselin’s shoot is decent enough within the context of a Caterpillar catalogue. Adwoa’s shoot is sweet: Skinheads in love. (There’s a portrait of her leading into some activist feature. She’s unreal looking: Like Christy Turlington’s soulful sister. Such a gorgeous woman. Where Benn sees deadpan expression, I see a lost-in-a-daydream smoulder...) The editor’s note page has snaps of Iselin getting her mane chopped off: that would have made a fun story for the main edit.

It’s one of those issues where the new season’s ads are vastly more interesting than the content. Seeing Adwoa in the Fendi one, even in that wrenched monogram dress, along with Kaia in the Sacai one, has a stronger impact than all the edits combined.

What a dud. Nothing original, nothing particularly eye catching. It's just so boring.

What a desapointing issue. After the last Febrary one, i had some expectation about this collection issue. I am so tired of Sims being the lead photographer of VP and the others following his aesthetic. Also Alasdair and Aleksandra are no good a pairing for VP. they editorials are so boring and anglo related that i could see those i Love, miu miu ads.

Ditto, I was so excited to see Aleks join the VP team, but her work so far has been disappointing. I wish she was collaborating more often with I&V and Sorrenti and less with Alasdair or Karim Sadli, their aesthetic is so limited and repetitive.

‘I’m on cloud nine’ - Offaly hurler turned model on his appearance in Vogue Paris

A teenager hurler from Offaly that swapped his hurl for the fashion pages of Vogue Paris this month said the experience has left him “on cloud nine”.

Oisin Murphy from Birr, Co Offaly features in an editorial in the August edition of Vogue Paris decked out in an O'Neill's GAA jersey and full kit. Speaking with Independent.ie Style, Oisin (19) said he was “thrilled” to be given the opportunity to star in one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world.
“The experience for me was brilliant , I enjoyed every minute,” Oisin told Independent.ie. “It was my first big shoot to do and it didn't disappoint so I’m thrilled.”

As for the O’Neill’s GAA Jersey, Oisin explains that he had “no idea” he would end up in the familiar sports gear on the day.
“It was a bit mad because I had no idea I would have to wear it and I actually play hurling so it worked out nicely,” he said. Oisin is hoping the photo shoot “opens up doors” for his modeling career following the reaction to the Vogue shoot this week. “At the moment I’m on cloud nine and thrilled to be in Vogue Paris, I never thought I would see the day. “Hopefully it opens up doors in my career and I can call it my 'full time job'.”

The young model, signed to Not Another Agency in Ireland, stars alongside model and activist Adwoa Aboah in a dreamy editorial shot in the Irish countryside. The agency said they were “over the moon” to see one of their clients in Vogue and described Oisin as “inspirational” for other aspiring models. “We of course were over the moon, not only because it was one of our boys but to see an Irish boy in Vogue isn't something that young Irish people see very often,” they told Independent.ie Style. “We think that it's really inspirational for young people to see Irish models doing so well.”

A spokesperson for O'Neills told Independent.ie that the company were "delighted" to see their gear in the August issue. "We are delighted that our brand has made an appearance in the internationally famed Vogue magazine. It underlines the growth and appeal of GAA and O’Neill’s product on the world stage," they said. "We are delighted that our brand has made an appearance in the internationally famed Vogue magazine. It underlines the growth and appeal of GAA and O’Neill’s product on the world stage," they said.

"As this year sees O’Neill’s celebrate 100 years in business, we also note Vogue was first printed in 1916, a very historic date in our country’s calendar." According to photographer Alasdair McLellan, some of the photos were shot in 'The Dark Hedges' in Co Antrim.
Vogue described the photoshoot as a "tale of romance" in a photo taken by McLellan shared to their Instagram, which boasts over 43 million followers. "Escape to the sumptuous surroundings of the Irish countryside, for a 90s-tinged tale of romance in the August issue of Vogue Paris," they said.

Earlier this year, Murphy signed to IMG models in the UK. According to U Magazine, the 19-year-old's brother Ronan Murphy is also a successful model signed to IMG. Former sports star turned fashionista for Dunnes Stores Paul Galvin praised Murphy on Instagram, sharing the photo with the caption "Lovely hurling @officialgaa . You made Vogue Paris."

No real element of fun. Where's the glamour, where's the humor, where's the sexiness?
Where is VP in this?
I'm tired of seeing models doing absolutely nothing and it seems like it's a trademark of Adwoa. From Fendi to this, always the same fake fierce face with a body standing straight.
