Vogue Paris February 2008 : Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell by Mario Testino

At first I hated the cover, but I have to say, it's actually growing on me!

Love the simpleness off the ALi ed. The clothes and colours are speaking for them self. I don't like her hair though.

The rest of the eds look okay. Colette's second picture (with the Balneciaga carpet) is weird though she looks really ugly there.

Nope I'm sorry. They're not inside:(
But there are lots of new ads inside.

There's Belstaff with Lara Stone, Hilary Rhoda and another girl, Isabel Marant with Angela Lindvall, Kenzo with Malgosia Bela, Blumarine with Suvi Koponen, Et Vous with Carmen Kass and a guy just to name a few.

Hilary Rhoda 4 Belstaff???????????????:woot::woot::woot:

i like the pop culture reference, but i don't like the cover, the pose is just boring and dull....and i strongly dislike lv 08ss collection:ninja::doh:

the eds are all quite well, and colette has 2 eds in this issue?wow!what a comeback!!!!she is a great model,i think carine must find this when she collaborated her and mario sorentti in the shooting of cesare paciotti campaign,
as to hollywood lilyd ed....er...i remembered vogue china had an ed about hollywood in 2006,styled by antje winter(yey, former vogue paris girl, used to be carine's assistant),i think antje one is much better, the mood and the styling.......

btw,5 eds styled by carine?isn't it too much????i remembered she said she styled 2 eds in one issue, which is enough,in the self-service magazine interview....well...i just hope she let Joe Mckenna and Marie-Amelie Sauve do more eds....i love both:crush::crush::crush:

anyway,i  vogue paris

i think, too, Carine is way too present in this issue (not only this one, by the way)....
i think she should let the stylists work more than this..........:innocent:
Emmanuelle Alt and Ms Sauvé really should develop their work in those pages.... esp. Ms Sauvé......
Anastasia Barbieri, too, is very good in Vogue Paris
and she should let her work....

She has a very good young team around her since the beginning (Julian von Boehm, A. Barbieri and Ludivine Poiblanc among the youngest) and i, too, am surprised she works that much....

about Joe McKenna.... I think he works more with Bruce Weber.....
but they have Karl Templer (mainly for Vogue Homme) who is an amazing stylist (in the same vein than Mr McKenna)....... and he doesn't work that much for the main publication (Vogue Paris).....

so yes Carine should hide for at least one or two issues and let her team really work......
but maybe when this issue was produced (right after the collections....) most of the stylists were at work with the ad campains.....

anyway.... all this bla and bla to say i totaly agree with you, kasper......
but about this issue, the bad girls theme could explain the strong presence of Ms. Roitfeld.... this is her favorite theme........^_^
......

I wanna know more about this new layout....
Fabien Baron left????

hoping i'll have it tomorrow....

^could you please scan one page Diorette???
i cannot wait til tomorrow........ ;)

Thanks :flower: the new letters remind me a lot of M/M Paris' work.

There's a whole new layout inside. Not sure if I like it...

i'm pleased with the idea they are changing the layout, even if their last was great for 4 years, but when other magazines start imitating it's the perfect timing to move forward and create a new distinctive one

Diorette, can you please scan the two editorials with Colette? Advance thanks and karma will be on your way! It's so good to see Colette back in business.

thanks Diorette....

i really like the new layout.....
the new wrtings is interesting......

i don't often look the beauty pages but it seems messy, non?
it's always like that, non?

anyway it looks good...
it's pretty trendy. it's not the first time i'm seeing this kind of messy-typo on flyers etc. (graphist websites, art exhibit' flyers etc.)

BerlinRocks and others... can somebody please explain me the exact role creative director plays in such publications as Vogues. i mean what's his take on the image of the magazine, on the content and the look. what part of the PV's vision comes from Carine and what part is Fabien's and other team members? what's the difference between being an editor, a fashion editor, a creative director, an art director? i do feel the difference still it seems like there's so much nuances i'd love to learn. please, someone, teach me :)

and somebody mentioned that Courtney Love would be perfect for the 'bad girls' issue. no doubt. but i can clearly see why they went for Amy. She's young, she's fresh, she's on HYPE. Courtney is not the girl you're gonna wonder who she is, and we have to admit she's a real fashion DIVA. and since Amy's still kind of maverick who explores dirty-messy-laundry aesthetic, the so-called 'drunk-housewife-chic' Courtney is revitalizing in the circles of Karl and Riccardo Tisci. If Amy is a rebellion (what part of this comes from her nature and what's prayed by media we won't guess), then Courtney is an established FASHION star with POP cover, Bazaar's eds and Tisci calling her his muse.
it's pretty obvious Carine chose the fresh path to follow. Creating a fashion icon is much more ambitious than celebrating one.

^I think that in his role as creative director Fabien Baron is responsible for the lay out of the mag, which fonts are used and the overall design of every page. So he is not that much invloved with the actual content, I think.
